He just came back from being out 6 weeks or so and was on minutes restriction the final few reg season games. Before being injured he was in the MVP conversation. He’s still getting back into game action.
James definitely is out of shape. He was out 17 games and didnt come back until the last two games of the season. We all remember how long James takes to get into shape. May not be until next series when we see him at his best.
well, to be fair, i thought he looked heavier and slower all season. it doesn't feel like he is beating people off the dribble with the ease he used to where you'd blink and suddenly the side to side dribble had stopped and he was even with the guy. but the floor is certainly more open for him on this team so that has helped.
I’ll be shocked if this goes beyond 6. That was as bad as Durant, harden and the Nets are going to play for the playoffs and they still managed to cruise to a easy win in the second half
James always takes some time to get his quicks right after a long lay-off, especially coming off an injury. He was looking like his explosive self this year right before the hammy injury had happened. The good thing is that he's in position to be peaking physically right when it really matters most late in the postseason.
I doubt the nets lose more than 4 games in the entire playoffs and would be surprised at all if the go fo, fo, fo, fo.
it took 3 generational players to beat a 21 year old Jaysum Tatum with no help. And just beat them by 9 points at home too.
Exactly. It wasn’t nearly as close as the final score would indicate. Boston got dragged in the 4th quarter. Just for factual purposes it was an 11 point win and Tatum is 23.
Durant is just going to drag Williams out to the perimeter. Then there's no shot blocking presence when Harden and Irving drive into the paint. That's why it's so hard to win against BKN. An entire team's defensive scheme can be used to stop Durant or Harden or Irving, individually. But it's impossible to account for all 3 at the same time.
Tatum on Durant is the best they can do but it's not enough. Late in the game they were doubling Kyrie trying to force a turnover and he just dribble magicked out of it or passed to an open Durant/Harden.
Yep. Double Kyrie and you leave one of Harden/Durant/Harris/Green open for 3. It's just too dang hard.
also KD - 105 offensive rating, 97 defensive rating Kyrie - 131 offensive rating, 108 defensive rating Harden - 125 offensive rating, 89 defensive rating
I’d only say something if Harden averaged like a 25 point triple double in the finals and they gave it to KD because he took the most shots and averaged 30 with 4 or 5 assists
