I'm buying this. Shaq really never has gone it alone. I would've loved to see him rough it out in Orlando and play with a gimp Penny.
The 2001 one Lakers went 15-1 in the playoffs they win it all whether they have Kobe Bryant at the SG or Bostjan Nachbar at the SG.
Correction. Shaq 3 championships Hakeem 2 championships Robert Horry 5 championships. Shaq minus Robert Horry =ZERO Championships Hakeem minus Robert Horry=ZERO championships Who is favored to win the title this year? the Spurs? What team is Horry on now? CASE CLOSED.
All Cassell did was hit big shots. Ask the Knicks, the Suns, the Spurs and the Magic. I remember when Hakeem had crap PGs like Sleepy Floyd, Matt Maloney.
Are you seriously trying to compare Cassell in his Rookie and Sophomore years to Kobe Bryant (Shaq's supporting cast).
Anyone that says stuff like this looked at the box scores, rather than watching the series. Hakeem abused the Magic on the defensive end. By the second game, what were usually Penny Anderson dunks became 15 foot pullups.
Sleepy Floyd was before the championships and Maloney was after. You might have had some credibility if you had brought up Clyde in the second championship run, but Dream did it basically by himself in '94.
-Hakeem was the one who tipped in Clyde's miss, not vice versa. Hakeem won game 1 with that tip in. He consistently came up bigger in the clutch moments of that series in games 1 and 3 which were the only ones which weren't blowouts. You don't just look at the boxscores to see who outplayed who. If they cancelled each other out, why has Shaq repeatedly ADMITTED he was outplayed? -For instance, in Game 2, the Rockets won going away. Hakeem had 22 of his 30 in the first half to Shaq's 6, when the game was decided. If you just picked up the boxscore at the end of the game though, it looked like a draw as both were in the 30's by game's end. Who had a bigger impact on the game though? Hakeem easily did. He also was a much better team defender than Shaq which played a factor in the series as well. To say they cancelled each other out is ludicrous.
