If I have two or three windows open and I close one, it takes at least 4 to 5 seconds for it to close!
Sometimes I think I didnt click the "X" and I do so again and both windows will close. DOH!

what the hell could this be?!

I'm running XP, and using Firefox.

    Any help is much appreciated.

hmmm... sounds like something could be hogging up some memory making your computer run slow.

does mozilla have any message boards, you might want to check them, see if anyone else is having that problem.

new versions of the mozilla browsers are always being released. check their site for updates.

in the meantime, the next time this happens do a CTRL+ALT+DEL and check your Processes tab and see whats running. You may have stuff running that could be eating up resources.

Have you run Spybot Search and Destroy and Adaware lately?

What about virus software? Lots of viruses do exactly what you're talking about.

Does it happen when you have other programs open, or just firefox? Do you have this problem if you try browsing with IE?

To add to what rockHead suggested, open up task manager next time you are experiencing this. Click on the processes tab and sort by memory usage. See if there is anything that looks like it is hogging a bunch of memory.

I just had the exact same problem, man, and I took my computer in to a repairman to look it over--I would strongly suggest checking your Spybot Search & Destroy, and I run Norton but it didn't pick up any of the viruses on my system. Now I've got to re-format the whole thing.
Sorry man--I totally feel your pain.

Well, no viruses and no unusual adaware.
It seems to be my Mozilla, IE is just fine.
Well, I'll look on their site and see what I can find.
    Thanks anyhow

I am having a problem, that when I visit certain websites they take forever to load. Like ESPN, or Compusa...or some other random sites.

You might want to delete your mozilla profile, then have Mozilla make a new one.
