Is this a crazy good roster and potentially fun team? Or am I just crazy?

Westbrook is pure energy and speed. It has its value that may even become equivalent of Wall.
But basketball wise (passing, handles, shooting, defense) Wall a much better TEAM player. What we needed.

Like I posted in other topics: Westbrook was a no-fit. Wall is a gamble on his health, but surely a better basketball fit.

May the basketball gods be with us and if Walls and Cousins are healthy, we may overachieve with WCF or even a title (one man can aways dream :) )

Uh..... the Rockets just beat the Bulls in preseason!! Get the parade ready! Lol I think there's a chance if JH stays and the new guys are healthy too... They at least have a better shot than last year, but if harden doesn't see it then it won't matter.

You are not crazy. If everyone stays healthy, this team is deeper than any team we have had in the last 10 years.

Also, glad that Westbrook is gone. He is all stats, no winning.

OP was right, this is a fun team to watch right now.

Only preseason though, I'm still cautious.

I'm excited about this roster mainly because the expectations from everyone are very very low. Harden is already being discounted as being gone or being an issue. What makes it unique is that both Wall and Cousins have a high ceiling, if Harden were gone and we somehow got a player a tier below and he ends up being the prefect fit, this could be fun team to watch under the radar, without national TV hate. If I were an OKC fan last season, I would have enjoyed the season they had for the same reasons.

    So you dont like blowouts?

You must have been miserable watching GSW during their heyday too.

Some other needs in addition to back up PG.

Rockets still need a longer starting 4 that can also fill in at 5 in a pinch (e.g. injury, load management, etc.).

If this player also possesses guard skills like ball handling/passing, 3ball and switchable 1-5 even better.

And another stretch 5 wouldn't hurt either.

Wood is perfect 5 for Rockets system.

And Tucker is best at the 3, he is the Ariza replacement.

    Or backup 4.

But no more time at 5, that just grinds him to dust.

We have Wood, but Tucker seems to be on the way out unfortunately.

    Christian Wood is a 5.

Silas has repeated this ad nauseum during media after every single practice.

He played over 50 percent as a 4 with the Pistons without any problem.

That is not his role on the Rockets, completely different systems.

But hey, take it up with Silas, I'm only telling you what he said.

Hey genius wall has never avg more than 1.5 steals a game in his career nor has he ever avg more than 23 points per game in a season . Cousin is a shell of himself and plays about as much defense as harden. Like do you really believe the garbage you spew on here ? Westbrook was a elite player in the nba while wall has never came close to elite even when in the prime .

Westbrook does everything better than wall . Wall can’t play close to as good of d as Westbrook nor can he take double teams off of harden . Wall is a guy who in his prime couldn’t avg more than 23 points a game or more thann1.5 steals per game .
