No you can't, the post implied we could have had WB CP Capela and Covington all at the same time. If they are going to do that they should also list pat Bev, lou, and Harell. It makes no sense. We essentially went from CP, Capela to WB, Cov to Wall, Wood. But we also lost a bunch of picks in between which sucks. @icewill
I'm saying there's a considerably better chance for this team to get to the NBA finals with Wall than with Westbrook. We knew with Westbrook we were doomed, now there's a chance at success.
Showing up for camp is diff from showing up in the season. He was playing with Harden and the players in that vid so he sure as hell wasnt planning to sit on his ass the entire season. Sure nobody wanted WB but guess what nobody wanted Wall as well, his contract one of the few that was worse than WB. We paid OKC 5 picks to get WB, how did WB's market value go from 5 picks to 1 pick+take Wall's awful contract in just 1 year? WB was a calculated gamble, this is a nonsensical gamble regardless how Wall performs this season. Even if Wall turns out to be MJ 2.0 and leads Rox to a perfect record Rox still lost out cuz they should have gotten more assets to get Wall's contract. Remember Rox needed to pay 5 picks to get rid of Cp3 contract which is way better than Wall's.
WB had to have the ball a lot in OKC look how they built the teams. Lots of very long athletic players who couldnt dribble, pass, or shoot but good defenders and rebounders. This ranking doesnt prove wall would be effective off ball next to james. He has played PG his whole life. You think he now can stand around and be spot up shooter? Get real we are trading james. All this stuff about keeping is just to try and keep leverage and get more back
How are our chances better? Wall is a worse player and will have to change his game a lot to play with james. (Though i dont believe james will be here the whole year) Right now i dont think this team is any better. The defense will be a joke and culture is a concern.
But the picks are pretty bad and super protected. Might as well save them because rebuild might be around the corner
I mean, I always take the wait and see approach but... We had a pretty solid roster during that 17-18 season... I honestly don't think I'm going to see Wall out-performing CP or Russ. Wall's been sitting pretty as the best player on a border-line playoff team in the Eastern Conf before he went on a 2-year hiatus due to injury. There's a lot of room for me to doubt how good he'll be as a Rocket. It's a whole situation with this roster.
Would anyone like this trade... We would trade Eric Gordon + 1st rounder to Charlotte for Devonte Graham and a 2nd round pick. Yes.. we would downgrade our pick but with the first rounders we have they are heavily protected anyways. Gordon is old in his 30s but with LaMelo Ball (starting PG?) and Hayward at SF, they'd need a SG and EG would fit the bill. Haven't checked to see how the financial numbers matchup but he could be our 6th man even if Wall is healthy for most of the year or even start when Wall has to rest because of his past injuries...
Well, you have a player who fits next to Harden considerably better that will get back to a dynamic similar to the one they had when it was Harden and CP3. That's better than the team bending over backwards to try to make the garbage that is Westbrook work.....and that's not even mentioning Westbrook's cancerous nonsense in the locker room, upset that he has to defer to the best player in the league. Just yeeting Westbrook from the team makes them better even if nothing else happened.
No that isnt what its implying. Its more like they dont know wtf they are doing. We are getting worse with each move. We trade cp3 and a buncy of picks for a player, then only keep him one year and trade for another player that isnt as good. Its a joke. The only tning that can save this is to trade james and go full rebuild
