After the Stros game ended, I was looking for another game to watch and the NYY/Boston game was the only choice. "Major League Baseball NEEDS Aaron Judge to be Great". OMG, these guys are homers. Homers with an attitude. I only lasted two innings. I couldn't stand to listen to them any longer.
Yup Can you imagine any other booth making such a statement? BTW, stuff like this I find infuriating and makes me wish a Yankee demise all the more.
Paxton's arm is ****ed. I have no inside knowledge or anything, but his arm acts ****ed, both starts I've seen.
A nice article on pitcher injuries so far: https://www.theringer.com/mlb/2020/...justin-verlander-clayton-kershaw-corey-kluber This table basically sums up article:
Cardinals-White Sox game at Field of Dreams next Thursday in Dyersville, Iowa cancelled, sources tell The Athletic. Reasoning not believed to be tied to additional positive tests on Cardinals. More a logistical problem. Tigers-Cardinals four-game series at Comerica postponed. Cardinals have 13 people in the organization who have tested positive for COVID-19. Seven of them are Cardinals players. The tentative plan is for #STLCards to resume schedule on Friday against the Cubs in St. Louis. The traveling party in Milwaukee continues to get tested daily. Marlins CEO Derek Jeter asked for empathy towards his players. He said his players were not hanging out in bars or running all over town or generally acting recklessly. But he did say that “some of our traveling party had a false sense of security and comfort.”
I can see it now...MLB pushes 2020 playoffs across the finish line (blackout zones apply)...Joe Buck calls the starting lineups for Game 1 of the World Series...starting pitching matchup of some Single A pitcher vs. last minute Independent League FA pickup. Games go 7 innings and each team has 7 fielders. Good luck.
Union telling players that roster size will reduce to from 30 and 28 on Thursday and remain at that level for the rest of the season and postseason, source tells The Athletic. Taxi squad will be expanded from three players to five players for remainder of the season.
MLB and the MLBPA have agreed to changes to the operations manual. Starting tomorrow, staff and players must wear face coverings over their nose/mouth at all times and in all places in the stadium except for players on the field. This includes the dugout and bullpen. Everywhere. Teams are required to provide outdoor, covered spaces for the visiting team to minimize time spent indoors. Both teams must also have dedicated spaces where they can observe social distancing during rain delays. Teams must reduce their traveling parties to only personnel who are absolutely essential to playing games. All staff and players must wear face coverings at all times in hotels in the road except for when alone in their rooms Teams were sent memos today outlining the new and enhanced protocols which are effective immediately. They include the risk of being 'prohibited from further participation in the 2020 season' for repeated or flagrant violation of said protocols. The refusal to wear face covering when required to and reminded to do so qualifies for prohibition. The league will send written warnings prior to any action taking place. Other measures effective immediately: -Face coverings required EVERYWHERE. Dugouts, hotels, bullpens, etc. All except field of play -Surgical masks are required on planes and buses. No cloth coverings.
