Greg, Cato's greatest compliment is that he is athletic.

I find anything "Bill" says to be highly dubious(or obvious), to say the least.

Jayson Williams isn't coming back. A couple of months ago they were talking about it and he got checked out by some specialist and the specialist said his knee would not even be able to hold up in a 25 game season.
As for the trade, Cato and #13 and/or #18 for #4 doesn't sound bad.

If Williams did come back it could only be for the Nets, because I believe he is still under that huge contract he signed right before the injury. The only way we could get him would be through a trade anyway, and Cato is about the only player I would trade for him. I'm glad to hear that he did donate some of they money since he did not have to play while earning it.

Now saw off...there's nothing to see here.

I have to agree with Criscokid, The Rocket Guy only states the obvious. However this rumor could be legit. I take anything the rocket guy says with a grain of salt but if anybody was going to take Cato off our hands it would be Chicago. Think about it, Chicago is often taking people who have no business being in the NBA. They rarely ever take the safe pick, they always go for lightning in a bottle like they found in Pippen. They have done it numerous times and would it really suprise anybody if they went for it agin.
On a side note I heard Jonathon Feigan say on the radio that everybody knows Cato has tons of potential and everybody thinks they can unlock that potential. So while Cato may be hard to trade he may not be as impossible to trade as everybody thinks.

Chicago want to do this deal cause it would help them a lot more than we think.

If you remember, Krause said he'd trade/free brad miller if he didn't want to be in Chicago.

Whats happening is that Miller wants to leave now. THAT means they have a void at the C spot. So they draft one at #4. But they don't get better this way, do they? They replace a C with a younger one. It would be absurd to think this C would turn this team around.

BUT, would they rather do that, or get cato, release/trade Miller, get two mid-range draft picks.

    So they'd have

    Cato
    Brand
    Draft pick (#13)
    Mercer
Crawford/Draft pick (#18)>>omar cook or jamal tinsley maybe

    OR they can have

    Draft Pick
    brand
    Artest/Fizer
    Mercer
    crawford/drew

This trade is not stupid, it would be helping both sides.

I also truly beleive Floyd will help out Cato, and Cato will be a better commodity with the new rules.

Don't tell me "why would we trade Cato if he was a commodity?", coz I knwo he is, and I'm not with the notion of trading him. But I think, since he's gonna be traded anyway, why not.

With all due respect... just because a player is offered in a deal, why is it proclaimed he is "heading out" of Houston like it's a sure thing?

If one meant the other, then Cato has been "heading out" for the last year or so.

Heading out was not my comment but the TheRocketGuy's. CATO HEADING OUT was his link to the above mentioned story.

    Sorry if I mislead anybody.

Not really pure rebounds, in his all-star year he was getting like 16 ppg.

    He also played great defense.

Alot like Brian Grant, but an inch taller, a better rebounder, and a slightly better defender.

When it comes to trades with Chicago keep these things in mind.

    1. Krause is a crafty SOB and is not beyond doing almost anything to get what he wants. (Make that, ANYTHING. Scratch the "almost".)

    2. The Bulls like all teams will have several scenarios (agreements) available for draft day. If they have their heart set on a specific player( eg. Battier) and he is not there at the four spot .... do not be surprised if they trade it off at pick time. Or announce a "future considerations" agreement.

    3. Trade speculations you see on fan sites and in the media forget a fundamental CBA requirement. You cannot talk to FAs, discuss sign and trades involving them etc .... until after the draft. (All this talk of sign and trades of Shandon Anderson, etc ... for picks, etc .... cannot happen BEFORE the draft. See #4)

    4. In reality, wink-wink nod-nod, there are in fact agreements that shade toward (semi-legal) gray area and teams call these "future considerations". But these still have to be uncloaked enough that the "trade", "swap", "deal", "agreement" or whatever gets past the league office who sanctions any such arrangements.
(An example: a sanctioned and legal agreement can exist between Team A and Team B that will send a pair of rostered players to the opposite team, with one team (say Team A) getting a pick and the other (Team B)getting a future consideration. The salaries have to adhere to any prevailing appropriate CBA rule. This is a whole lot easier to do if both teams are not under any Cap restrictions.)

    5. Getting back to Chicago - Krause has a blinding vision of what he wants to do with the Bulls. Very headstrong and unwavering. That coupled with the fact that if he becomes disenchanted with a player, he will unload him at first opportunity. No questions, no sorrows. Bang! you are out of here.

    6. Krause has shown some ambivalence towards Miller.

    Cheers.
