@ima_drummer2k @J Sizzle Ya'll still going to Vegas? https://www.fox5vegas.com/coronavir...cle_c4854f00-6713-11ea-8730-c7b45312bfd1.html
Let's hope that what this man is saying is right and this actually is Covid-19 and not the flu. The coronavirus will come and infect a big % of the population inevitably anyway but the flu MUST go away before the Covid 19 peaks. Last week I checked our statistics here too and the comparison with the last 5 years. This flu season in the beginning was much less than previous, but showed a high peak late chronologically. Last week of February, first week of March. If the flu season is actually over, it will free many hospital and ICU beds. Also don't forget it is very possible to get infected by both at the same time. The first death outside of mainland China was in the Philippines , a man in his 40s. He was found to be infected by SARS-CoV-2, Influenza AND streptococcus pneumoniae. The coronavirus will come everywhere anyway the less of the other viruses and other microbes that are around, the better for everyone and for our healthcare systems.
Some good news in time of the pandemic. The whole country quarantine and lockdown lead the Italian police in finding and capturing a Mafia Boss who was hiding in a remote village. Dior and other cosmetics manufacturers will stop making parfumes and switch to making antisepticts to give for free to the french hospitals. Also high fashion tie makers in south Italy, will start making masks to give to the public for free.
Not sure if this has been posted. Take it for what you will. https://jameslyonsweiler.com/2020/0...P2VJM8B0ir_9xXwcNwxmoOhAt40h-NEsnI4Cz6FZoEihk but the graphs are extremely interesting and overall lead to the conclusion that the only way we will realistically get out of this anytime soon is with advances in medical treatment options. Not vaccines. Those would be great but are unlikely to be effective at first - in fact the first batch may just as likely make people worse if they take it - oh by the way who tf would volunteer for a study on a vaccine that has skipped animal trials? social distancing needs to be like 97%+ of people at least to work. but if you can find treatment that isn’t even perfect but just moderately helpful (they describe as 40% in one graph) you can have social distancing only at like 60% and you’d get out of this still in very decent shape. of course social distancing still super important especially in light of the fact that it isn’t clear how effective or available the immediate treatment options are.
It’s just a single story, but it hits close to home for me. A sweet cousin of mine posted this last night on Facebook: My friends, this is personal. I’m a private person. I don’t share a lot. And I may regret this, because I’m not ready for the commentary. But I do this with purpose. I don’t want thoughts or prayers. I want action. I want us to wake up. We have made preparations to say goodbye to my father tomorrow. He has had a good life. And he’s going peacefully. He is fortunate enough to have an ICU bed, and he had a ventilator when he needed it. His ICU doctors take our calls day and night, since he is in quarantine and we can’t visit. His nurses hurry to suit up to help him answer our calls. And this team is making provisions for our final visit. But the way this is ending is awful. He was hospitalized for 2 days, and required intubation, before he qualified for a COVID test. At that point our access to him was cut off, and we went to our separate quarantines - dad in the hospital; me away from my dad and away from my children. We awaited results for “3-5 days” before being told it will now be 10 days. He will likely pass before we have the results. But here’s the real kicker: - If he’s COVID negative, we missed this final time with him for no good reason. A quicker test, or a quicker result would have ensured he didn’t spend those last days alone. Without us. Without the people he was always there for. - If he’s positive, we should all be terrified. He lived at home. The extent of his worldly travels: his occasional trips to Royal Farm Store for a coffee, or a drive to see family. He wasn’t anywhere we might expect an outbreak. He has no contacts who have been overseas. Yet as of about March 6, he began feeling ill. If symptoms set in around 5 days, this means he was exposed the first week of March... which would mean community spread has been happening for several weeks! Several undetected weeks. And so it’s personal, but it’s not over-hyped. This is not irrational or unfounded. It’s not panic. It is happening. We have a duty. It won’t be easy... for any of us. We need to do hard things. If you are in a position to influence public policy, or the actions of an organization, please take the time to understand the data (I will post in the comments). The numbers speak volumes. The time to act is now. NOW. Every day counts. In lieu of flowers, or cards, or thoughts and prayers... please just act. Act like it’s your father, sister, or spouse, that may need an ICU bed. Stay isolated. Help others do the same. This isn’t going to blow over. We need to fight the fight to flatten the curve. Act.
What it's like to have Covid-19: "You get better before you get worse." This may not apply to everyone but here's one of the cases described by a healthy young guy with Covid19.
I believe that the time is fast approaching where there will be a nationwide lockdown with no movement allowed except in extremely limited circumstances.
The neuroinvasive potential of SARS‐CoV2 may be at least partially responsible for the respiratory failure of COVID‐19 patients Journal of Medical Virology Early View REVIEW The neuroinvasive potential of SARS‐CoV2 may be at least partially responsible for the respiratory failure of COVID‐19 patients Following the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (SARS‐CoV) and Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS‐CoV), another highly pathogenic coronavirus named SARS‐CoV‐2 (previously known as 2019‐nCoV) emerged in December 2019 in Wuhan, China, and rapidly spreads around the world. This virus shares highly homological sequence with SARS‐CoV, and causes acute, highly lethal pneumonia coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID‐19) with clinical symptoms similar to those reported for SARS‐CoV and MERS‐CoV. The most characteristic symptom of patients with COVID‐19 is respiratory distress, and most of the patients admitted to the intensive care could not breathe spontaneously. Additionally, some patients with COVID‐19 also showed neurologic signs, such as headache, nausea, and vomiting. Increasing evidence shows that coronaviruses are not always confined to the respiratory tract and that they may also invade the central nervous system inducing neurological diseases.

Testimonies from Venetto Italy. The authorities are telling them that because last weekend (Before the country lockdown was enforced) people were going out taking no precautions, they are expecting the incubation period of these people to be completed the next week with even higher peak of deaths and critical cases. They told them that because of hundred of thousands of people escaped the quarantine in Milano on 8 March, they are expecting this week other areas outside of the North to be hit harder the next days They told them that they may have to enforce a plan called "coprifuoco" = putting out the fire, which is likely to mean Wuhan like quarantine measures.
It looks like EU will ban ALL non EU residents from coming and very likely everyone will start border checks. So far 9 Shengen countries have asked to do it. Only cargo will be allowed in. It is not only the UK that is suicidal. Also Sweden and Switzerland want to murder their citizens. They must be kept out.
Checked in on my mother. Now that the president tested negative she isn’t as afraid. She also informed me bill gates stepped down from Microsoft’s board to go in hiding because he’s about to be arrested for creating the virus.
