While Chris Paul's hamstring cost us 2 yrs ago and we faded last year I think Luc's injury hurt us more than we thought I think lacking Ariza hurt us more than we thought I a hoping Jeff Green and Demarre Carroll are good replacements. I think that we may have given CP3 his due in the 65 win season but may have not give Ariza and Luc their due as equally While Ariza and Luc were good on offense They were great defenders. . .rangy and lengthy . .Hopefully Green and Carroll can be that Rocket River
The new ariza is RoCo who is a steroids version of him. It's as simple as that The new Luc is just a combination of all the wings left that are actually playable
Robert Covington says hi. I'm liking the potential of these new additions though. If Carroll isn't washed we are golden. Looking at his career stats on bball reference shows that in addition to having a reputation as a solid defender, he is a more accomplished offensive player than Luc was at any point of his career. Carroll shoots more 3 pointers by volume and at a higher percentage while also being a decent slasher.
Sorry but this comparison is hella shade to Ariza and Luc. They were both all-defense or at least damn close that year. These two are nice bench players.
My apologies. .. . I meant to add ROCO to the Mix He is the Main part of the analogy. His style enhances everything on defense Green/Carroll maybe the Luc part of it Rocket River
I’ll just like to say , I was wrong about tabo. He’s solid at D and has good bball iq. Still has some gas left in the tank
I don’t think Rico is that superior to Ariza. They’re the same player. Ariza was quicker on rotations and a better perimter shooter.
Every time some dummy on TV has the,"Well, GSW didn't have Iguodala!", argument ready to fire from the hip whenever CP3's hamstring comes up in conversations it's annoying. Luc is ALWAYS ignored like he wasn't one of the main reasons for the Rocket's success. Luc hurt his shoulder the last game of the season and was unplayable in the playoffs. CP3 going down was a killer, but if Luc was healthy, Rockets would have won. Rockets were down 2 linchpin players and still only lost by single digits with the refs cheating and the Rockets missing 1000 3's... smh..
he's easily superior to ariza. ariza was solid but RoCo is at the elite level defensively. yes there's a difference
I think people knew about Luc and his Defense. On the contrary, they knew little about his Offense, he was pretty good with D'Antoni. He made a lot of layups, a lot of layups until his injury. https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/m/mbahalu01.html
I sort of agree with this. He hasn’t been a liability on the floor because his defense is still good, but more often than not, his offense is unwatchable. Fortunately they haven’t needed his offense. His 3 ball is broken right now. It’s not just the missing, he has missed them by a lot. Good to have some other options to go to now.
Carroll's defense is better than Ariza's. He's a better fit, seems to rebound better, does a little more on offense. Color me impressed by Carroll's entire game. He looks like he has enough left in the tank to bring him back next year for sure and maybe a 2-3 year contract if he's looking to play meaningful minutes and not just to make bank. If Green continues to shoot like that (nearly impossible to keep that up at 6/7 FG and 4/5 from 3pt line) we're going all the way regardless of what other teams do.
Liked the production last night. Offensively Green was good but little lax on D. Hopefully will improve with time. Carroll stat line does not reflect the hustle out there. He was very active. Same eval on him, hopefully will improve with time in the system. Just needs to get comfortable on the offensive side. DAntoni system resurrecting careers one three at a time!
This looks like a haiku to me for some reason. So here's a haiku paraphrasing your post: We miss Ariza Luc too but now we got Green, Demarre Carroll!
