Not sure if the Texans would be interested in him due to his age, but could you imagine if the Texans did get the fifth pick from Washington in order to draft Sean Taylor and paired him with such a smart vet such as Lynch? [/Wakes up from daydream]
It seemed like it was the doing of the new GM telling Lynch he wasn't part of the plans. This would be a fantastic signing for the Texans. He's 32 and a pro bowler. Injuries slowed him last season, but if he's recovered, I say go for it. That way, we don't have to trade up for Tayor (though, could you imagine those 2 in the same defensive backfield? DAMN!) and can use the 10th pick for defensive line or linebacker help
Actually Gruden has nothing to do with it. It has to do with Tampa having the least amount of cap space in the league; approximately 400 thousand dollars worth. They simply cannot afford Lynch. In fact, they cannot afford Sapp either. Unless Sapp signs for a ridiculously low contract in the range of 5 million dollar a year, he will be elsewhere next season.
I apologize. It is Tennessee that is in this predicament of having the least amount of cap space; but Tampa is not far behind. Again, unless Sapp signs for a low contract, expect him in another uniform next season. The Raiders and Bears have expressed their interest and Sapp has told his agent, Drew Rosenhouse, to contact Cincinnati.
Look for Lynch to sign with the Jets........ Jets coach and former Buccaneers assistant Herman Edwards is close friends with Lynch. In fact, Lynch and Herm are so close, Lynch is the godfather to Edwards' only child. Since news of Lynch's release broke, Herm made it no secret that will do his best to bring Lynch in the fold to fill the Jets gaping hole at the saftey postition. Its a perfect fit for both parties. And now its only a matter of time before Lynch is a member of Gang Green.........
