If you would’ve told me that, from 2002 - 2020, we never would reach a conference championship...man, what I could’ve done with all those Sundays. SMH. This organization is a such a shame. I’m done wasting my time with the Texans. I’ve said it before...but what a joke. We’ll never be a true contender. We’ll rely on Dashaun and waste his career like every other Texan.
Are the Texans are top 8 team in the NFL? a top 4 team? If do not think so, one would have to grade this year a success, right? I see the Texans no higher than top 10. Their record this year and last overstates how good they really are. To have Super Bowl aspirations, the Texans need to be top 4 team, which means they need better talent. In particular, the Texans need more, better edge rushers and better DBs. Being able to put consistent pressure on the QB should move the Texans into the top 8.
Texans were up 24-0 in a divisional playoff game. They ended up losing 51-31. No matter which way you wanna slice it and dice it, this falls on the head coach. And unless they get rid of the head coach, all this off season crap will be pointless. #24-0
If Watson's opinion matters, BoB is going nowhere. See his comments in this abc13 story: https://abc13.com/5844617/ Watson could easily have been noncommittal, but instead guarded BoB's back in pretty strong terms. Now watch Cal fire him. It'd make as much sense as anything else has this season.
Deshaun is a a professional and a good person no way he’s non comital or throws his coach under the bus. In other words he pulled a O’Brien move with his response to the question.
I'd give more credence to Watson's opinion after he has time to think about it and gives it behind closed doors to ownership.
This is exactly right, and it brings me back to the paradox of how O’Brien somehow wins more games than he really should, yet he’s almost universally considered to be a below average coach. I can’t even wrap my brain around how that happens. I guess the argument is that the talent he does have overachieves the rest of the roster’s deficiencies PLUS all of O’Brien’s numerous coaching flaws, or he’s a better coach than we think, or he’s the luckiest sonofabitch alive.

They gave up a first this year and still have their remaining picks. It’s only next year that they don’t have a first or second, but they didn’t give up all their picks. I agree with the rest, though.
Don't think he's every coached with the Patriots or with BoB so don't see this happening. Obrien doesn't seem to be adventurous and go outside his circle.
Remember when we had Watt, Mercilus, and Clowney and we couldn’t find enough opportunities for our abundance of riches? Yeah that was last year. How far we have fallen. Now we just overpaid Whitney who goes the majority of season on the milk carton and hoping Watt doesn’t fall apart again for the 4th season in a row.
All I know is under Kubiak when Schaub did that bootleg and set his feet you KNEW someone was going to be wide open. That was a coach who could scheme players open. That Stills TD might be the only play I can recall under BOB where someone was that open. Everything with the offense is always so damn hard. Hopkins makes a spectacular grab or Watson makes a perfect placement or Watson creates something from a broken play. I just don’t see any scheme at all.
