Well here is my current 2 cents. The Texans won't trade up, it just costs too much. AZ wants Fitzgerald but won't trade up if the consolation prize is at worst MikeWilliams. Stephen Jackson is a question mark if the Cardinals really pass on Roethlisberger and he falls to Pittsburg. 1. San Diego Chargers - Larry Fitzgerald, WR Pittsburgh 2. Houston Texans - Vince Wilfork DT, Miami ( With Roethlisberger available, a great chance to trade down) 11. Pittsburgh Steelers - Ben Roethlisberger, QB, Miami (OH) 12. All of those teams will pay for passing up on Kevin Jones. That dude is another Clinton Portis. He should easily be a top 10 pick.
I don't want to delve too far into your draft, but I do not think New England is going to select two running backs in the first round.
Nice job again. I like some of the new additions. Clayton-eagles.. odom-rams... roy W-falcons , reggie W-niners are all logical and excellent matches.. a couple points the titans have been hit very hard on the DL this offseason. I see them taking Marquis Hill with their pick if he's on the board. TE while important to that offense i dont think its going to be priority #1. denver has a burner WR in Lelie. If they draft a WR I would sense they'd take a big one like Jenkins, Clayton, etc. I find it more likely that they take Troupe off the board to succeed Shannon Sharpe. Another important TE offense. Despite the logic of the top 10 I still cant imagine Ben Roethlisberger falling that far. Franchise QBs are usually snatched up really fast and that guy has had great workouts at the end of the first round I think its more likely NE looks for quality OL depth as they just lost some pretty good guy. They have some good LBs already and Colvin is going to be back next season. I could see them taking a big WR here too.
Oops, an absolute failure in proof reading. I was focusing on the top because after listening to Denny green on ESPN radio I really think he is set with McCowan and plans on passing on Roethlisberger. That bumps him down to Pittsbugh and that bumps Jackson down but, to whom? The point was , in that scenario, Roethlisberger is available at #10, which might inspire Miami or Green Bay to trade up. By the time I got to the 32, I was just in the BPA mode.
If there is a chance, as in your scenario, that Vince Wilfork will be available at #10, I really, REALLY hope we don't trade extra draft picks to choose a safety...even if he is as good as everyone thinks he will be.
I dont think the Texans are going to take a defensive lineman in the first round. I think we are pretty stacked at that position with our off season moves and with a couple horses coming back from injury. I think we need the most help at defensive back and linebacker. This draft is weak when it comes to linebackers and had a few potential studs at defensive back. I would love to get Sean Taylor but do not think it is worth giving up multiple high round picks to move up several spots. I also hate to take a gamble on Gamble. It has been a fun offseason and it will be interesting to see how all of this pans out. Go Texans.
