Absolutely it was important! Got 4 games to clinch and we burn game one with bench players. Not being dramatic at all but surely you see the flaw in his “plan”

You have to think about the context of the situation. The Astros have a significantly better record at MMP than on the road. It's a massive difference. It is going to be one of the most important factors for this second title run.

The Astros just need to win one more game to clinch hfa against the Yankees. The game is tied 3-3, you still have Altuve and Yuli in the dugout, you use Alverez for only one at bat, and depend on the minor league line up to finish the deal along with putting Biagini at the mound?

If you are a manager, you can't think about a hypothetical win for the next game. You have to think that the game is tied in extra innings, just a swing of the bat and one shutout inning can get us home field against the Yanks.

To be fair they did leave 17 LOB. That's the frustrating part.

i dont see much. and when guys like Brian Goodwin get injured just like that, I feel even better. astros still control their own destiny. im good knowing the lineup is fine and healthy besides the obvious ones

burning a game means they had 0 chance from the get go. that certainly didn't happen. they left 17 on base in a 1 run game. all the chances in the world. but again drama. drama. drama. drama. gotta love it

Starting in the 7th, Springer, Tucker and Bregman had chances to put runs on the board and failed.

Of the 4 weakest non-C guys in the lineup, one went 3-6 with a BB, one went 5-6, one hit a 2-run HR and one went 0-5 with a BB.

Bregman and Brantley’s performance has no bearing on what gurriel or altuve could’ve done. We left two guys on the bench through extra innings who each hit .300 with 30 homers. No excuse.

So you want to avoid fluke injuries by benching our starters before we have clinched home field? Yeah we disagree

Yes fluke. As in it happens to take place in the last 4 games of the season as we try to clinch home field

Teams are smarter than fans and understanding managing players. Today, Aaron Judge is on the bench as well, just as he was a week ago. LA rests players all the time too. Fans are obsessed with winning every game all season long. Teams simply know better.

Last “games” to clinch. Sorry. Im not at all dramatic about this. Last 4 games of the season. Trying to lock down home field. Figure it out. Stop being thick on purpose
