I think it'll be after this game, but it's gotta be coming soon. Unless the guy has blackmail on O'Brien. We're so quick to axe guys like Gaine, Colvin, Osweiler, Kalil, etc for poor performance, why not Devlin. Guy has been terrible.
Yeah, I just don't think they do this mid-season. I see BOB waiting until the off-season, and then Devlin and the team having a "mutual parting of ways". I also see Crennel choosing to "retire".
Would have been nice to do all this in the offseason, except they were dicking around with Casserio and then letting BoB be GM. Oh...and the ST coach needs to go too.
I know we haven't had a kick/punt returned for a TD in like a decade, but I actually feel like our ST has done pretty well in coverage since Sealy got here.
There's no need to sacrifice one of the bigger scapegoats after a win. I assumed he's being saved for a pivotal loss or another collapsed lung incident.
I read "mike devlin firing" and got excited. b.o.b would just appoint himself as the offensive line coach. when b.o.b graced the patriots with his presence, Brady was sacked less than 28 times in a full season. Patriots way!
Honestly, show me a special teams unit that doesn't have at least one block in the back penalty per game. The NFL has made it very difficulty on ST units across the league. Fairbairn is good and the punter, who has some inconsistency, is talented. He booted one 60 yards yesterday, but then followed that up with a couple 45 yarders. Also, they tackle well for the most part.
I believe they have 6 penalties in 2 games. 2 for not lining up properly, the rest for blocks or holds. Plus Carter let them down the ball on the 1 yesterday instead of making the fair catch at the 10. This is just the punt teams, btw. That is...not good.
Yeah...Carter needs to learn to catch the ball and not run away from it when players are running downfield in a position to down the ball.
The Texans just need to clean house period. I don't know of anyone on the staff that is good at anything football.
