You think the Malone skid was bad. . .

    Game notes
... The NBA fined the Cavs $5,000 for a skit in a Feb. 19 game when Cleveland's mascot poked fun at Celtics forward Ricky Davis. During a timeout, Moondog mopped the floor using a No. 31 Cavs' jersey -- Davis' number before he was traded to Boston

(In light of the subject of another thread) I think Davis qualified as one of the most reviled players by his fans.

Well, after he left he mad all kinds of disparraging comments about the Cavs organization. So it only seems fair that the organization take some shots back. The Malone thing however was kind of ridiculous considering how long Malone was with that franchise and how much he did for that organization.

(though it sounded like a funny prank and i'm sure it would have been fine if they had talked to Malone about it first.)

    also from that link:

James is one of five finalists for the 2003 Sullivan Award -- given to the nation's outstanding amateur athlete

Can someone inform the selection committee that Lebron gets paid millions to play basketball? Being an amateur isn't what it useds to be I guess unless they are giving it to him late for his senior year in high school.

An article on ESPN's web site yesterday mentioned how Cleveland has gone better than .500 since trading Ricky Davis and Boston has gone....I forget, but barely above .250.

    Coincidence?

I think it's not very classy, but funny, and Ricky Davis probably deserves it...

He was the guy that threw up a shot on the other team's goal to give himself an extra rebound to get a triple double, right?

A lot of people thought the Malone thing was bad. I still think that wasn't really insulting to Malone (except the Kobe line). BTW, it wouldn't be a prank if he was consulted first.

The Davis skid, however, is clearly aiming at insulting him. And Davis isn't exactly a classy guy himself.

Man, I hate all this fining. No one can have any fun, rib another team or player, talk about a referee making bad calls, or frankly anything that resembles sarcasm. It's a shame.

    Oh well......only a 5k fine? They'd do it again.

That's pretty bushleague. This garbage with the Cavs and Jazz, and people talk about players being classless. These organizations are getting ridiculous now. Stop being bitter jerks and turn the page.

    Same guy

I live in Ohio but am not a Cavs fan, but David said some crappy things after the trade. Good riddance to him, he did appear to be a cancer and definetely not someone you want LeBron hanging around.
