Peacock is still under club control. Backup options include Urquidy / Abreu / Whitley / Framber / Josh James / Armenteros. Cy Sneed and Brady Rodgers also still on the 40-man.
I was looking at Greinke's Baseball Reference page and just realized a pretty cool statistic: He already has 2,500+ strikeouts and has 197 wins. It's very likely that he'll hit 200 wins by the end of the season. In the history of baseball, how many times has there every been two guys on the same team with 200+ wins and 2,500+ strikeouts still pitching in their primes at the same time?
Read a tweet posted by somewhere else posted here. Astros are first team since the 1907 (FUUUUUCK!!!!) to have 4 pitchers with a ERA+ of 140 or better. We're not just great now, we're historically great.
Great move by the front office. My only complaint would be that we should’ve had Morton for 2/30, and still made this trade, but that’s water under the bridge. This team has 3 #1s, and 7 batters that could probably be 3/4 hitters on most other teams. This team is STACKED. Let’s go!!
