We have a lot of wings, they have 4 power forwards in Bobby Portis, Morris, Taj and Randle. Any chance they do each other a favour and make a trade?
wrong forum but the knicks are smart they said. they sign a bunch of players to significant money, who all want minutes and essentially play the same positions all while taking things away from their best prospect to date in a very very long time
I mean, they just signed those guys. It’s not like they signed a player as an upgrade and are looking to get rid of the lesser player...
1) They will likely try to trade their bigs after 12/15 2) Which one would you trade Eric Gordon for? That question is intentionally inflammatory but really, right now we don't have salaries we could trade out to take back any of the guys you listed unless we are including a rotation player. 3) Gag me with a ski pole
I was wondering where Taj Gibson went a couple of weeks ago and realized the Knicks signed him? Why? The Knicks have absolutely no need for a Taj Gibson type vet. Maybe they gave him a decent contract in hopes that they can get (2) 2nd round picks out of him? That is the only thing I came up with. they would be smart to look to trade Taj and Marcus Morris come December 15th. Rockets should definitely be calling them on both players as both would be pretty good fits for the rockets. Taj could help provide depth at the 5 and the 4. Bobby Portis also seems like he would be a good get but the Knicks would be smart to keep him and Randle. Maybe they look to trade one of them though.
The knicks traded Porzingis and Hardaway jr for cap space to sign Taj Gibson and Julis randle lol. Only the Knicks
The Knicks are going nowhere whether they trade or not. I think they signed for the sake of signing FAs.
Yes, I meant this year, not now. Damn, well definitely cannot let go of Ego for any of those. Moving on.
We have a lot of guards. But we’re short on wings ourselves. Quality ones that is. The Vince Edwards (is he still on the team?) type doesn’t count.
I think what they did may have actually been kind of smart. They struck out on the big free agents so they signed a bunch of solid players on 2 year deals. I think the plan is to trade those guys for other assets. Some of them might bring in a 1st round pick from a team looking to add one more rotation piece to contend - others might get them a second rounder. If they whiff they aren't hurt long term because they're only on 2 year deals. We'll see how it goes but I actually think New York has competent management now. But Dolan is still there so I won't get my hopes up.
Our contracts dont match We would need to trade Gordon Capela or Tucker and I'd rather have Gordon Capela and Tucker.
Where the wings at? OP says we got wings, but I don’t see them. not sure how someone can claim we have a lot of wings when the lack of legitimate wing players is 1 of our biggest issues
Westbrook/Rivers Gordon/Mclemore/Green J.Harden/House/Green Tucker/Clark/Anthony Bennett/Hartenstein Capela/Chandler/ Rockets dont seem to have room? Tucker is a tradition sf, but is better suited at pf. Same as clark, because houston is a running team. Why they are giving bennett a look because he is running and shooting 3's not posting up.
