T. Will tha DonMember Considering only asking him to be an all-star at being a role player; could Anthony Bennett's 6'8 254 lbs body, uber athleticism, and super improved 3 point shooting (.453% on 4.7 attempts) be what we wanted out of Faried but couldnt get? He can play the 3-5 and is a better rim runner and put back threat than capela. Confidence could come from being on the otherend of lobs from Harden & Westbrook and wide open shots like Faried took last yr have a better chance of falling with a 45% catch and shoot player. Before the people with daddy issues and pessimists start the condecending jokes and banter, look at the skillset, percentages he brings, and what we will actually ask him to do...... #252Today at 8:20 PM
Watch "Anthony Bennett (36 points) Highlights vs. Austin Spurs" on YouTube Just needs to improve his defense but hes no worse than Faried and he's cheaper and younger...
Not sure to be honest boss lmao. But neither here nor there. I really wanted your insight on the post. I dont post a lot. I just read and research tbh.
If he actually rebounded the ball like an A-list big man he'd be a star in waiting. His offense is going to work. No doubt about it. Either his defense or defensive rebounding has to be neutral to positive for him to get extended minutes and get all the offense he wants. Rooting for him obviously. He could be MIP or Comeback player next season.
He does not have height to play PF and does not have speed to play SF or guards. He has no position in the nba. I’d put him in G league. The goal is to beat Clippers in the 2nd round, he is not playable.
UMMMMM he's 3 inches taller than PJ Tucker who plays......power forward ♂️. And he's 1 inch taller than Dreymond. Its about the skillset and what thw system will ask of him. Please watch film and research. Forum.we have our first pessimist red nation.
Watching the highlights and reading his stats only, I come away with zero assurance he can actually defend, rebound, or even rim run. 6.1 rebounds per 36min is truly not adequate for a big man. Additionally, it’s quite concerning that his minutes played went down between his first and second seasons of strict G league ball, from 27 down to 21mpg. At this point he’s looking like a strict stretch four. It’s encouraging that he’s got a 79.0% career FT% in the G league. Obviously based on Clutchfans’ penchant for hyperbole, how he looks in training camp will probably be the #2 question that we try to answer, behind how Harden and WB are meshing together.
Very true. But I just feel like without Harden, Clint Capela would be a backup. What a difference a true defense collapser and point guard make for role players. If the ball goes in the goal and the skillsets match then its a win. Morey has missed on a few but hes also hit on Beverly, Harrell, capela, harden trade, Parsons before the injuries, EG, PJ who was back and forth from Europe, Bah ha mute was an afterthought but looked great for us in our system, and now even Caboclo is doing well with Memphis.... Js Morey sees something that translates.
He does not come close to being the rim runner that Faried is. Combine that with lack of defensive effort, does not bode well. Offense is not the problem, effort on the boards and being able to switch defensively will dictate how much paying time he earns.
He has more potential than most retreaded players were not going to play anyway. Bennett skill set should blend in with Tucker, House & Clark’s where all should be inner changeable for similar looks to keep it simple. I’m hoping Barrett can improve the team’s rebounding issues. Hard to grab boards when your behind the ark waiting in space. I would like to see Tucker at the small forward with his minutes cut way back, too; with development as a number one priority. We need to make our depth through out the regular season. Would like for coach to use a 10 man rotation with everyone getting 15 minutes or more. Mix and Match Westbrook - Rivers Harden - Gordon Tucker - House Clark - Barrett Capela- Hartenstien
First step for this guy is to actually make the starting day roster. Next step would be to then crack the rotation. Let's see how he goes in training camp/ preseason before even thinking about him as a 'super role player' Sure, he has all the physical talent and ability - but he's got to put it together. To date his NBA career is far WORSE than Ben McLemore (and we're not expecting much from him I hope?) I really think CF needs to chill on Bennett more than just a little bit. [I think the above are fairly logical and reasonable thoughts re: Bennett]
Faried didn’t get playing time while many would argue he was a positive, at least in terms of energy, so what makes you possibly think Bennet will? Faried even shot threes and hit them at times.
Everyone's low on Bennet, and for good reason... But there's a lot going for him here: 1. Everyone thinks he will be bad because of his tainted reputation as a #1 pick bust. Forget the history and look at him now as a minimum guy. 2. His game fits perfectly into our system as a stretch 4. He will look better with us than he has with any other team.
