I'll take it. I actually like Lonzo. Look past the hate...the kid has all star with his knack for defense, vision, and improving offense. Plus hes 6'7" pg that can defend multiple positions
Would you want... Kevin Love for $29+ mil per year, 31 yrs old next season, coming off an injury, shot 36% from 3, 17 ppg and 11 rpg last yr, and a horrible defender. OR Bobby Portis for $14 mil per year, 25 yrs old next season, healthy, shot 39% from 3, 14 ppg and 9 rpg last yr, and a very good defender. Hmmm
I watched it a few days ago. I don't think we're disagreeing. Thompson is really good on perimeter, but Curry will torch him regardless just because he is Curry. Even in that series, you can put together a reel of Curry torching him but all it takes is for Thompson to get 3-4 unexpected stops to shift the series - which he did. He did a great job. People don't realize that there are no C's who are going to guard Curry like a defensive wing. We have actually been wildly successful at containing Curry compared to the rest of the league.
Really? With what money? The Rockets are way over the cap, so would have to use the MLE to sign him for more than the minimum. Odds are it'll be the tax-paying MLE too. I'd think he's shown this year that he can get more than that. Even if he can't, it'll still probably take all of the MLE to sign him, and, whoops, there went their flexibility. Love has a ridiculous deal (same total remaining money as Paul, just over one more year), a poor record of staying healthy, (games played over the last three years: 60/59/22, for those keeping score at home), and plays defense as bad as the popular perception of Harden's defense. The Rockets get him, and it'll be shades of the Astros getting Miguel Tejada: a splashy signing who everyone has heard of, who won't help the team win anymore than they do now. At least the Rockets won't have to give up a ton of picks/prospects to get Love. He is a great rebounder though, and the Rockets need that desperately.
Kevin Love played more minutes and averaged only 2 more rebounds. Championship experience is good. But, is it worth an extra $15+ mil per year because he was the third wheel to LeBron and Kyrie? Hmmm
$28,942,830 $31,258,256 $31,258,256 $28,942,830 Marvin Williams $15M (.366 on 382 attempts) Nikola Mirotic $12M (.365 on 318 attempts) Nikola Vucevic $12M (.364 on 231 attempts) Kelly Olynyk #$11M (.354 on 319 attempts) Jerami Grant $9M (.392 on 293 attempts) PJ Tucker $8M (.377 on 387 attempts) JaMychal Green $8M (.403 on 176 attempts) Davis Bertans $7M (.429 on 338 attempts) Nemanja Bjelica $7M (.401 on 257 attempts) Dewayne Dedmon $7M (.382 on 217 attempts) Al-Farouq Aminu $7M (.343 on 280 attempts) Anthony Tolliver $5M (.377 on 215 attempts) Marcus Morris $5M (.375 on 389 attempts) Mike Muscala $5M (.348 on 256 attempts) Mike Scott $4M (.401 on 252 attempts) Brook Lopez $3M (.365 on 512 attempts) Jeff Green $2M (.347 on 320 attempts) But sure, go pay Kevin Love $30M and Ryan Anderson $20M and Danilo Gallinari $22M to be "elite, gravitational force floor spacer that can shoot from The Woodlands, Baytown, Galveston & Katy." And in two years when you have to dump picks to move him, good luck!
The Rockets Huge Need is Aaron Gordon of the Magic, A 6'8 Stretch Small Center, to battle Draymond, Aaron switching defense on the perimeter, Can shoot corner 3s, dribble and create for others.
I’m with you. I think AG would be a 20/10 guy with harden and make the Allstar team. His game is ready to bust out if he can get to a team with a elite scorer playmaker guard like harden. He can run pick and roll for the lob like Clint but he can also do so much more with the ball in his hands. I love AG on this team with Harden. I might be underselling him he could possible be a 25 ppg scorer in our offense with harden. The kid has serious game. I think he’s ready to break out and much bigger I might add in a different situation like Tobias Harris did. I think AG can be a 37% 3 point shooter in our offense and he’s so good at handling the ball and making stuff happen for himself. With our space and the gravity harden and Gordon provide assuming he would still be here would make AG a top 20 player in the league. Plus i think if tought right he can be one of the best defensive players in the league. He’s got the size strength and athleticism to be great on that end. I’m all for AG if we can get him.
You just need to call Hammond and convince him to give us his best player for some random picks bro, i have faith in you.
You must have taken the playoffs off the last two years if you think Kevin Love is the answer to our GS dilemma.
Definitely not. People acting like he’s still the player he used to be. And his defense is trash. This is an awful idea. Money is way better spent elsewhere
people are real desperate now he is a “this offseason has been horrible and can’t get any worse, so might as well trade for Kevin Love and shake things up” type of option
