Where do we start? How about learning how to catch quick passes.

Working on an entirely new approach to perimeter defense.

Did anyone else notice that Clint Capela would have a lower contest point than Eric Gordon in isolation?

Curry, Klay, and KD would SKY over his hand for jumpshots at will. His crouching perimeter defense stunk.

Capela will never be a good perimeter defender. Ever. He shouldn’t be defending the perimeter let alone anywhere past 15ft. Why shouldn’t he? He simply can’t and it’s not fair to expect him to be able to do so. Unfortunately, that’s one of the reasons why The Warriors are so good cause they can consistently create unfair matchups and expose Clint by leaving him on an island (no mans land for any Center). Even AD struggled when he got switched out there last year.

If he doesn’t crouch and get lower it’s just that much easier to blow right by him. Doesn’t help that Capela’s lateral movement sucks and he’s not very fluid. They don’t call it a mismatch when a big gets switched out there for no reason.

    FT's and 3pters only.

Do NOT put on any more muscle. If anything, trim down. League is trending the other way.

Any shot on the court Besides a dunk. Any shot whatsoever. From anywhere. A Nene 17 ft pick and pop makes a nearly unstoppable PnR combo pretty much a god mode code. A tim Duncan bank shot? A dream shake? A left handed hook shot while he covers his own eyes with the right from the left corner 3? Perfect. Half court granny shot dude ****ing make ANY SHOT ON THE COURT YOURS

    Free throw.

He is timid around the basket because he doesn't want to get fouled and shoot free throws.

And hire DMo as his personal coach to teach him how to box out.

Any kind of touch using the glass around the basket.

A healthy prime DJ was just such an explosive athlete …. Capela doesn't have that same explosiveness and I really don't think you can teach / train that. Either you have those quick twitch fibers or you don't.

DEFinitely some mental work. He hasn’t so much Finese around the rim with the ball. When he goes up against bullies like Draymond Green, he shuts down. He has owned a bunch of centers like Gobert. He can’t even go against a 6-9 pf like green. He probably got picked on back in the day and now he’s in a foreign country where he barely speaks the language. I took this thing called the landmark forum. Got some menta blocks out of the way. Maybe it’ll help him. This game is 20% athleticism and 80% mental and emotional fortitude. Even harden has a breakdown in the playoffs every year.

If he could learn to shoot even 35% from open corner threes, that could be an interesting development. Who really thinks that will happen? He can't even improve his free throw %.

What really needs to improve is D'Antoni's ability to simply NOT PLAY HIM IN BAD MATCHUPS. Learn what other coaches do with their big men.

Easier way than that - stop talking to the media altogether and answer questions with standard sentences.

Dude has got to be tougher than he was. He was getting pushed around by Klay Thompson AND Steph Curry. Nuff Said.
