I'm curious to see if the Rockets will ever trot out the Capela/Faried/Tucker rotation against the Warriors. It worked really well in the regular season, but Cousins was also playing. One thing is for sure, Kenneth Faried should be playing, period. Granted it's a totally different team, different matchup, etc. but the Rockets had a +14.6 net rating (2nd on team) when Kenneth Faried was on the court in the Utah series (+6.8 when he was off, so +7.8 net). How in the ******* hell does he not play a single minute in Game 1?
Faried is basically the Gerald Green of big men. He will get roasted defensively. Would I give him some spot minutes if Clint continues to suck? Probably. But you can't rely on him heavily against Golden State.
He doesn’t though. He blocks people left n right. A couple blown defensive assignments isn’t the biggest worry
I think one time someone posted the Defensive rating with him on the floor up until the last game of the season and there was really noticable disparity.
He is our worst defensive player next to Green.... but he would have helped more than no nuts clint yday night.
Sure glad D'Antoni is addicted to small ball lineups. We just gave up 14, yes, FOURTEEN offensive rebounds just in the 1st half! It still blows my mind that we utilized a big lineup of Capela/Faried/Tucker, saw that it completely destroyed the Warriors, dominated the boards, and we never used it again after a week. It's not even remotely defensible.
He views Faried like Donovan viewed Kanter. Dudes not an all star. He’s not going to go into the HOF. His game will have holes. But he also hasn’t pluses. It’s to coaches job to figure out how to maximize the positive while minimizing the negative. Not that I envy any coach going against the Warriors... but these are the type of coaching things that MDA has struggled with his entire career, especially when matched against a better coach.
Yep, and playing Faried at the 5 is NOT maximizing his talents. It only maximizes his weakness at the 5 being undersized and inability to rebound over bigger centers. Whenever we've seen Faried be ineffective on the court, it's almost always with him playing the 5
Whyyy is Faried getting trash minutes and hardly being played?. Literally when this dude was on the floor for the whole 3 minutes he got an offensive second chance rebound and passed it to rivers for a three We need better energy, and rebounding n he’s not getting the minutes I don’t get it We’re being outplayed so why don’t we put high energy guys like him on the court. This dude will be wherever the ball goes no matter what. This is the type of energy and toughness we need Put tucker, Faried and capela on the court together
