Not that I know every in & out of contracts in the league these days, but to get anywhere near value for Francis now is impossible. I don't see a deal that would work.....can anyone else.
I have to agree with ya on this one. Stevie's trade value = Jason Terry = nothin (at get some expiring contracts damn it).
I see two deals that would work off the top of my head: SF for Chandler, Hinrich, and Robinson or SF for Dunleavy Jr., Murphy, and Johnson
Close, but it should probably read like this: SF for Chandler, Hinrich, OR Robinson or SF for Dunleavy Jr., Murphy, OR Johnson

Why would Chicago or for that matter any other team would want SF. SF has demonstrated that he is not a max money player and even though he is a good athete, he is by no means a good team player. I think we are stuck with him for the long term. So be ready to suffer for years to come.
i would trade nobody. This late in the season, and we are in a playoff race, there is no way any gm would trade players. It would totaly ruin any sort of chemistry. IF your looking to not make the playoffs this year, go for a trade. But i dont want 5 in a row.
DAmn I thought this was going to be the first realistic trade of Francis thread. Wrooonnggg. Francis is possibly the least tradeable player in the NBA. Let's look at his resume. Has the bball IQ of a turnip. Has miserable court vision something you might want to have in a PG. Can't adapt to any style of bball except streetball. Won't even make the pretense of adapting to any style but streetball. As a SG would dribble the ball for 23 seconds then hoist a desperation three. As a "team leader" decides he'd rather go to the Super Bowl than go with the team. Would never thrive in a playoff atmosphere where it's always half-court ball but probably will never have to worry about playoff basketball. Oh yeah, as a side note he can't play D. The only player that you can trade Francis for is another overpaid guy without the talent or desire to play his position and who could well be a coach killer. The listr narrows.
You are completely ignorant ... See the thread about players with Max contracts or make more than Steve. There are so many players that are not near as good as Steve. You people like to whine so much that all Rox players are devalued in your eyes.
Sorry. Didn't mean to offend any turnips. I'll refrain from comparing The Franchise's bball IQ to that of any vegetables. How about a pet rock?
You could get a big chunk of something out of Washington. Steve would be big revenue for the Wizards.
I'm sure all types of trades will be offered for Steve during and after the draft. The Wiz don't really have anything we need, yet.
No, we can't. Clearing Francis from the $51m already committed for 2004-05 barely gives us MLE money (and we lose part of the TE on the process of going under the cap). Assuming Kobe isn't assigned a new number by the State of Colorado, the bidding starts at $12m and will escalate quickly.
Untradable for anything remotely valuable. Of course he could be traded for a coupla stationary bicycles & Tracy Murray, but is very unlikely to get us anything near his inconsistent value.
