having cp3 and harden rest alternating games could be interesting. we're good enough to beat most teams with at least one of them on the court

I remember when Shane Battier's expiring contract was considered an asset, we got absolute jackshit from it.

Harden always playing thru these accumulated injuries which is admirable...his play right now is tanking his stats tho and hurting whatever MVP case he has left...keep up the poor play and his PER will fall below 30 and his 3 point percentage will fall below 36%...his ppg will fall below 36 as well and continue to decline

the media doesn’t see that Harden is banged up, all they see is that he’s gone 1-21 from 3 the past 2 games and needed 29 shots to drop 30

Dumping Ennis to save money when we're thin at the wingman position did in fact weaken the roster. No, Ennis wasn't having a good season, but he had put together a few decent performances prior to being traded. Also, when your biggest weakness is defensive rebounding, it doesn't hurt to have another 6'8" body you can throw out there instead of playing Gordon at the 3.

As for your last point, the jury is still out on whether or not Tilman will pay the luxury tax. Personally I'm skeptical. He lucked into inheriting a title contender last season that had CP3 on a cheaper deal and Capela on a rookie contract. He'll certainly spend to retain star talent. But I have my doubts that he'll go into luxury tax territory to surround those guys with quality role players.

Not really. Sure, there are outlier games (GSW) but you need just about perfection from the rest of the unit. There is no margin for error.

Rockets don't beat ATL or CHA without Harden and CP. It *shouldn't* be that way. But it is the reality of the situation.

never was a fan of the nothing was given up view when signing these vet min deals, especially when they obviously don't fit or weren't that good. It did cost the rockets something and this particularly was part of the rockets horrendous start of the season. I'm not going to cast a final judgement on shump until the season is officially over. this knee jerk stuff a few games with him as a rocket isn't my mo.

We’re gonna cry over the loss of Ennis now? Really?

Ennis isn’t even a good rebounder. He had a lower DRB% than Gerald Green. He had over 5 rebounds in a game just once all season. He had games where he played 34 minutes and had 4 boards, 32 minutes with 2 boards, 30 minutes with 1 board, 32 minutes with 3 boards, etc. So he wasn’t helping out on the boards, and u yourself said he wasn’t even having a good season. What exactly are we missing out on? The vast majority of CF didn’t want Ennis getting any PT for large portions of the season because he sucks. Just because u got a couple of scrubs doesn’t mean it counts as actual depth. Ennis may as well have been just an extra body on the roster that we had to play due to a lack of options on the wings. He sucks.

CP3 was on a cheaper deal, and then Tilman approved of giving him a 4 year max. Capela was playing for peanuts, and he approved of bumping up his salary to 16 mil/yr. We offered 4 1st round picks for Butler knowing we would have to pay him the max while still having CP3, Harden, and Capela’s contracts on our books for years to come. We wanted to sign Wes and Morris in the buyout market. Tilman isn’t going into the LT to surround Harden with scrub role players. We went after Wes who’s a quality role player. We went after Morris. Ennis, Chriss, and Knight aren’t quality, they’re scrubs. They’re expired bologna and mayo sandwiches. Tilman tossed them in the trash like most owners would.

He is recovering from it. This is slowing him down.

To that with these aches ad pains speaks volumes about his pain threshold. Stacy mcgrady would miss games over a broken toe nail but this guy is something else

I guess Harden showed us. 44min on night two of a back to back and he puts up an efficient 58/10. Screw r/nba!

I didn't say he supports the Warriors. I said he might as well wear the jersey, because like them he is an obstacle to us winning a trophy.
