No that’s not accurate. Robin Lopez is working on a buyout with the Bulls Currently. The Spurs are rumored to be in talks with Pau Gasol. Also the Clippers have bought out Marcin Gortat. Frank Kaminsky has also been bought out.
The fact that the roster has 3 open roster spots should of already been more than enough to let someone know signings will be made
Not when they are that close to the tax line and obviously don't want to pay it because they want to put off or avoid paying the repeater tax. Like I said above , they are $877k from the tax line , they can potentially get one vet min and stay below the tax line. Or do you really believe they will exceed the tax this year after all that maneuvering to get under it ?! If they sign One , they'll still have two empty roster spots.
I don't know the answer to that … I'll have to do some digging and get back to you on that as another posted above suggested only owing $8k for the final day of the season which I don't believe is correct , I think you are closer to the right answer but not sure exactly what the date is to calculate from. If you are right , that still isn't enough to sign two players being that we have $518k and the 2nd year min is $538k.
Actually a scenario for example with 3 open roster spots: vet min is about $270,000 for the rest of year. There would be room for about two guys and then enough to convert House
Is the Kaminsky one a done deal?? Didn't hear about that at all. Could be a decent fit. RoLo too would be good but I didn't hear about that either. I knew about Gortat but didn't mention him cause he's trash. I don't think the Pau one is gonna happen. Heard they were trying to trade him but now that that's past I just don't see the point.
Yeah me neither. I'll just wait with someone who is a nerd like Morey. Think we still could get one player and still add House but as far as how much money......?????
Even the Rookie Minimum would be $298k from today. Years of service - Salary from today. 0 - $838,464 - $298k 1 - $1,349,383 - $480k 2 - $1,512,601 - $538k 3 - $1,567,007 - $557k 4 - $1,621,415 5 - $1,757,429 6 - $1,893,447 7 - $2,029,463 8 - $2,165,481 9 - $2,176,260 - $774k 10+ - $2,393,887 - $852k
Like I said above , I could see them filling a spot .. maybe two IF the math works out to stay below the tax (that gets easier as we get closer to March 1) but I don't see all three spots being filled … and its going to be closer to that March 1st date than it is today. That's why I declined to take @RudyTBag's tip jar bet.
How do you get from the first two lines to the third? The difference would be threshold-total 123.73-122.05=1.68 right? so whats the next step after that?
