The NBA held its tie-breakers live on NBA.com TV, the outcome benefited a number of teams including the Orlando Magic, which by virtue of Dallas' win of the tie, received the 14 (their own), 19 (New York's) and 23 (Dallas'). Magic GM John Gabriel said he has every intention of trying to package ACCORDING to bskball.com: all 3 picks to move high into the 1st round at least top 5 according to sources, more likely top 3 given who'll likely select there. Gabriel said if he could not find a deal, he would pay the "pick debt" owed to Houston from the Steve Francis trade, and send them the #19 pick. The Magic have made it clear they will look exclusively at big men and point guards in the draft. with this in mind, would adding this pick and the others, be enough to trade up into the top 5?
Technically its the 18th pick, because Minnesota doesn't have a first rounder this year. ------------------ Founder and President of the Houston Homers Club(HHC) - Are you a homer? Join now! The Rockets will be NBA champions. Believe.
It amazes me how bskball.com's reports are considered more accurrate than cc.net's. UTrocket The Rocket's General Manager, Carrol Dawson, is on record saying we have the 18th pick. His confirmation quotes were printed in the Chronicle. JBlaze is reporting bskball.com's reprint of an Orlando Sentinel article that had no quotes, which read just like a journalist's analysis.
