No, I think he needs on the job training because the offense or defense is NEVER going to go through him. He needs to play off of others and his defensive rotation will come a lot quicker in real league time. He is actually very active with a high motor using his body to make things happen. We will have a positive gain when the game starts to slow down for him —> as long as keeps playing with the same intensity shown thus far. We don’t need finesse at every spot.
Among other things that everyone mentioned, the thing that really gets on my nerves about him is how he sets picks, and it’s the worst I’ve even seen. But it’s an issue that coaching should have already fixed
The Kid is 20 years old. He has the size and athletic ability to be a decent 5. Capela at 20 was averaging 2.7 points and 3 RB a game. You have to be patient. Hartenstein has a really good motor to partner with size.
Agreed I think he has a great motor and potential I think that is the frustration You see it . . . like he knows what he wants to do but the skill and experience is not allowing him too His body needs to catch up Rocket River
Imagine him playing in PJ's stop with competence and confidence I love PJ but Hartie is taller . . . If Hartie could learn to pick and roll. . . .. I think he has Pick and Pop potential Rocket River
In order to play with Harden and be successful you have to have a higher bbiq. Guys like MCW, Melo, Ennis and Hartenstein dont have that much confidence in him getting more minutes for the Rockets. Morey has to do something.
You mean the 20 year old kid? It's crazy how time keeps propelling itself onward but people keep this very specific, bygone mindset at the forefront. It's crazy how we watched Yao add on and add on and add on until his feet literally crumbled but THIS FANBASE requires everyone who lines up at center to weigh in a 3 bills or hear all about it. It's crazy to me that anyone considering themselves a current fan can forget that Capela might weigh 250 but for Hartenstein "he needs beef". He doesn't need strength. He doesn't need 20 pounds. Maybe in career projections but for this season he needs some ****ing playing time and for Harden/CP and Nene to instill some confidence in the young buck. 2 days ago he was dominating an inferior league on the border of America. Now he's in the bigs trying to catch bounce passes from the MVP that are 3 ft. behind him because they haven't had time to gel and know each other as teammates. That's not a strength issue, that's a familiarity issue. Please update body size concerns to 2019.
SSSSOOOOOOOoooooooo when Capela was slimmer . . . no one was saying he needed to add strength and muscle SSSssssooooooooooooooo adding strength and muscle has not helped Capela AT ALL .. it is all about playing time . . . .. ssooooooooooooooooooooo your expectations of HArtie does not go beyond this year sssssssoooooooooooooooo we should just give him playing time with not expectation beyond this year and no thought that he needs to add strength mmmmmmmmmmmmmkkkkaaayyyyyyy Rocket River
His hands are weak. People dislodge balls from his hands easily He doesn't SNAP TO when he catches the ball . .. if he catches the ball Rocket River
Honestly, I like Hartenstein. He needs time obviously but I think he deserves a shot. Imho he has some things you cannot learn (motor, shooting touch, agility). We should show some patience with him.
