[Opinion] Should Janitors be allowed to have offspring?

I think what most view the label as currently is what matters to my point. The historical meaning of particular labels and groups, especially in politics, aren't entirely relevant considering how fast politics move the meaning of such labels and groups. It's definitely important to understand the core beliefs and meaning of the original movements, but trying to one-up me by saying I'm using the modern accepted view of the term - but not the true sense of the historic meaning of a label to describe a political group is a bit silly.

Example - by today's understanding - that the right is supposedly HANDS down the party of constitutional rights, small non-intrusive as possible government. That modern description is one that I'm willing to bet nearly every self-labeled conservative agrees is the focal point of the conservative party, and a ban on an unalienable right like OP proposed should be completely unfathomable.

Of course, that's not the reality and is contradictive of multiple conservative stances (gay rights, abortion, drug laws, foriegn policy) Which is why it's funny to see again, conservatives condone such proposals.

Again if anything, someone trying to tax children or create some sort of restrictions to take away a constitutional right, freedom, for the "greater good" should be a radical left-leaning communism like view. Of course, extremism is on both sides, and it should shock nobody to see a liberal or conservative support this type of restriction because it's just an extremist position held by both sides regardless of what the true, or modern definition is of either one.

 

That's interesting. Small sample size but of all my friends that I consider intelligent, only 1 couple has a kid and that just happened in Thanksgiving. They're also well established in their industry. Of all people I know in my age range or school group that I don't think too highly of, only 1 doesn't have a kid and only two couples have just 1 kid.

Let nature take it's course.

That’s how it is. My responsible friends didn’t start popping out babies until 27. My other friends started around the time they could get into bars.

 

IQ scores used to go up 3 percent each decade, then around 1975 this pattern reversed. This has been true of most western countries. TV and social media are probably the cause.

If only they'd show up and vote....and if the Republican party would let them.
