my initial reaction was but he is playable unlike some in our roster. and we need that depth DESPERATELY.
I am truly interested to see how AR fits in. If he is a solid contributor . . .. . then we have a strong Backcourt rotation Stronger than last year (who was our 4th guy? Green?) 2018 Backcourt > 2017 BackCourt Our Center Position is the same as it was last year maybe a little something with Hartie 2018 Center = 2017 Center The main point of concern is the Forward Spots To date it seems a step back House/Clark/Tucker/Ennis < Ariza/Luc/Ryno/Tucker Here is the thing . . . .. Ariza/Luc/Ryno were painful to watch in the playoffs We went with potential over what we knew What they do in the playoffs is unwritten AND there is a possibility of another move ONE GOOD MOVE and this squad is indeed better than last year Rocket River
CP is already more injured at this point than last year and dipping in production. Are we just going to ignore that? I guess. I am not even touching on EGo's production.
I have playoff expectations. I am seriously considering the season . . .as practice and time to gel As of now . . .. we have a good shot at a top 4 seed contrary to all the chicken little doom and gloom Rocket River
Sure, I dun think injuries are doom and gloom. Old age is natural too. They are part of a professional league, part of sports. A legit 3rd star (a ball handling one) should have been addressed long ago. The record now did not even remotely show how bad the start of this season was. I guess the whole league is going thru an up and down all year therefore anything is still possible.
He went to the situation where he saw the most opportunity for him, which is the smart thing to do as a player.

Sorry if it's already been posted, but good write up by Jonathan Feigen about Rivers: https://www.chron.com/sports/rockets/article/Austin-Rivers-addresses-past-tensions-with-Rockets-13489096.php I don't care for him, but didn't everyone also feel the same about Jason Terry? Derek Fisher? (LOL. nevermind) Anyway. One thing I know about Rivers is he DOES have a competitive fire. That's what caused the rub last year. And I remember he torched us a couple of times. If we can get that out of him and torch other teams, maybe he'll win us over. Seems that all is good with CP, or as the article stated, "he wouldn't be here" 37% career from 3 and he should get good looks with James (and eventually CP) If he can light it up regularly, then people will quickly forget his past
Rivers sounds excited to be here. This signing is going to be a pleasant surprise hopefully in an annoying season so far
He's a very solid defender. If he can give anything offensively he will have been a great addition. Good start.
