Deshaun's advanced Stats are an improvement on last year. He is improving. Big plays are down due to Fuller's injury, but I like that Deshaun has shown the ability when needed to dissect a defense when given time.
He looked great, maybe one of his best games in terms of managing the game. No turnovers but was still aggressive.
haha, the MPH jab sounds like someone responding the idiots that questioned his combine here on Clutchfans. Short answer: That boy throws dat der ball fast as heck y'all!
Watson had some really impressive moments last night throwing the ball. His pre snap ability is getting really good. Last night, prior to converting on a third down to Keke. He saw the blitz coming off the edge and yelled at his rookie receiver to run a hot route against a LB in coverage. Keke broke off his route for the first down. Super impressive pre snap.
The good thing is that as well as he played, he still has room for improvement. He's not yet in the top tier of QB's, but it looks like he really could get there sooner rather than later.
That's because the Texans have moved away from the passing game. BOB is afraid Watson will throw interceptions or get hurt so he's keeping his pass attempts down in order to run the ball more and shorten the games. He's playing to win with the defense. Personally I think that's just bad coaching because I believe Watson is capable of a lot more, but they've won 8 in a row so it makes it more difficult to criticize what he's doing since it happens to be working.....and like the saying goes, if it's stupid, but it works, it ain't stupid. With the fewer pass attempts he won't put up the gaudy TD numbers he did last season while healthy, but his QB rating sits just outside the top 10 and he's still thrown for more TD's this year than Tom Brady, so that's not bad.
BoB seems to be in the process of changing the culture of the franchise. As soon as Rick Smith leaves. BoB and Gaine took over and it just feels different.
