The Rockets took a championship caliber team and **** the bed in the offseason - numbers don't tell the entire story, chemistry is as important as numbers, and this roster sucks balls. Sure, there are players that can and will play better, but this roster is terrible - whereas last year we could withstand players out and still keep on rolling, this year our margin is razor thin, and that is on Tillman and Morey. They let KEY pieces go thinking they could get the same production out of cheaper parts, they were wrong. We are broken, and we need to mix it up, to try to pull out of the funk, we lost 2 HUGE pieces in Trevor and Luc, guys that could hit the 3, play solid D, and were great in the passing lanes..... They were the glue that held this team together - and we let them walk. When you have a championship level team - you keep it together. Basically, Morey and Tillman closed the championship window just as it was opening for Harden - now we have to jettison Melo (Obvious he was never going to fit) and find a different chemistry, maybe a PF that can shoot the 3ball like Patterson - but we need to find some chemistry and rebounding support for Clint as this team is broken - and right now is about as mediocre as can be. You don't **** with a winning streak, you don't **** with chemistry - you add to it......we can't turn over 50% of our roster and expect to be the same. Daryl, love ya, trust ya, fix it. DD
Guards salaries Paul + Harden + Knight + Gordon = Average 110 million each year. Salary cap = 101 million How can you balance out the talents for forwards and guards? What is the budget proposal for each position?
GS Five Last-Year All-stars = 105 million backcourt salary: 55 million frontcourt salary: 50 million Balance the talents
Well.. there was no chance in hell this backcourt was going to take a cut for other stars to join.. let alone re sign luc or ariza lol. Ridiculous. I don't see how Greed is going to get us anywhere
Is Durant really a better player than Harden and/or CP3 or hes just smarter for taking a paycut in order to win?
Na, cp and Jimbo are both just Glory Hogs.. carry the load til they can't anymore..too bad Harden's the worst at that.
basketball wise i feel durant is a level or 2 below harden... he was simply always playing on stacked rosters so by halo effect he is considered a better player than harden but if we count intangibles(eg readiness to take a paycut) perhaps he is better than harden, not that harden suffers from the lack of intangibles himself, he has an admirable lot of intangibles
In life one can be problematic or opportunity based. One needs to come with an answer to one’s problem. Everyone sees the situation it’s how one responds determines one’s level success.
Harden is clearly a better player than Durant on offense. Harden is underpaid. Paul and Knight are big overpaid. Gordon is seeking for overpaid ... This is the most expensive guard rosters in 127 year basketball history. This is the problem. You put $110 million on guards, then you put minimum salary on SF and two-way contract on SF bench.
It might should be mentioned that Luc has been injured most of this season and Ariza has been terrible and that it's entirely possible that if we'd kept them we'd be in the same position for more money.
i dont see no problems, we have a fantastic team, you should be more positive, at least 25 perhaps even more teams only wish they have our roster!
I dont see gordon knight snd a bunch of others here past all star weekend. Sign jr smith... trade eric gordon knight marquis chris mcw for something that doesnt just suck the oxygen out of the room.
The Front Office is a mess, Daryl obviously doesn't listen to scouts or respects them to even make decisions with their opinion, the roster construction is based off of spitballing his own scrub bargain bin basement dweller non talent fringe NBA Players. Good Job Daryl and Tillman
With short sightedness like deciding a 14 time all-star is 'obviously never going to fit' only 10 games into the regular season - yer never gonna find anybody that is going to workout... We dont have the assets to give up for a proven commodity... and nobody has the patience to let somebody on an economical contract acclimate and develop... so you get what you get! So sick of the crybabies whining about wanting more talent and more talent and more talent... "our bench is scrubs" wah wah... guess what, thats what you get when you hand out max contracts - thats the offset... We got the MVP, we got the much coveted 2nd star, we paid CC... it's time for MDA to actually coach the guys we got into playable commodities... crying about 'chemistry' and 'turning over 50% of the roster' - while wanting to make additional roster changes... smh... the irony....
lol Melo, MCW, Chriss and Knight just suck the oxygen out of the room. If Morey is too patient in dealing them, this team could go 5-8 seed. Tilman said "if the first round is a struggle, I would ............"
Actually, where he went wrong was thinking that that scrub would actually help us win games and signing him in the first place. Cutting him 10 games into the season was the right move. Instant addition by subtraction but an addition that should have never been made to begin with.
we need to sign some 10 day contracts to some young highly motivated G leaguers or free agents. Guys are too comfortable and are not competing. I like that James had a rookie killing him last night in order to shake him up. You got to punch people in the mouth early and often. James is too good for him not to put people in their place on both sides of the floor. And my boy Gerald needs to start playing Everybody just spots up all the time no one outside of cp3 James and EG wil make an aggressive move to the basket
