For being able to try to insert a new potential piece like Carmelo Anthony into the line up after losing a 7 game series to the warrior; then realizing it was not going to work after a shaky start to this season and got rid of him completely. So shout out to organization for that. Not only for seeing and being able to cut the problem so soon into a season (especially a name like Carmelo Anthony), but also for them starting to look like the squad from last year so soon. Last time this happened we fired mchale so soon instead of maybe dealing Howard imo..... The players definitely deserve credit for not letting something like that affect the locker room and their efforts in-game. I thought this was about to be a repeat of last time with Howard, but the Rockets seemed to have turned it around. Rockets are looking like a championship Organization in and out. So much Kuddos to everyone Players and Staff. I love this f***ing team. I hope we destroy the Warriors when we meet them this year in the Playoffs.
The j*zz didnt add any piece at all, they are easily figured, maybe that thabo guy can help since he was injured most of last year.
Agreed. I don't think enough credit is given to the organization for realizing this kind of thing can fester, can lead to a an entire lost season, can waste prime years of players' careers.
Great post, OP! Love it. Very true that Howard was the main problem with that team, but it we had dumped him after 11 games, we'd have kept McHale. Getting rid of Milk Hair was almost worth suffering through that entire putrid season. Amen to that.
Although now that were here its easy to say but idk, I think we let go of him too fast, I mean we were fresh of a western conference appearance with the same team. But JB wasnt any better either. Lol
He is getting Memphis to the 2nd seed now. Sitting calm. We never really gave him a chance longer term but who cares now.
I am proud they had the cuts to cut Melo but... Tillman chepaed us out two great roles players. Hope he wakes up and realizes thats not the way to go. To beat the Warriors you need to spend like them.
This squad is proud of Rocketboi For being able to try to insert a new thread like this one into the forum after a 4 game win streak after a shaky start to the season. So shout out to him for that. Not only for seeing and being able to be so proud of the squad so soon into a season (especially with a 9-7 record), but also for them starting to look like the squad from last year so soon. Last time this happened we fired mchale so soon and there was no thread by Rocketboi - maybe dealing with real life too much imo..... But Rocketboi definitely deserves credit for not letting anyone stop him from being proud. I thought this was about to be a repeat of last time with Howard - with everyone getting down and saying we'll never "turn a corner" but now that we are back to winning ways, it's good for us to tell them that we have turned one and only one corner because they may think we've just turned 4 corners and ended up right back where we started. Rocketboi is looking like the Hakeem Olajuwon of posters - a champion in and out. So much Kuddos to him and all his thread. I love this f***ing guy. I hope he keeps posting and he still believes!
Isnt Luc injured? So maybe he cheaped out on 1 role player. Plus 15 million for Ariza is pretty hefty
Agree with OP, lowest point of this season is the lowest I felt with this team on 18 year following them. But I did not believe them gutsy enough to deal with the bad PR of dealingwith Melo and devinitely did not think high enough of Mike DAntoni and his abiliy to turn around the ship. We are competing now and look like a different team.
I took the under at 56.5 …. I hope they make me lose that bet. They have to go 47-19 the rest of the way to get there. That's better than .712 ...
