People say alot of things. That was before the season when the role was outlined for him. Things change.
Gordon can help Harden out, if he gets fit. We will still need a swingman and a true backup PG plus a mean rebounder. That is going to be very hard to obtain, I admit.
That's all good and well, but going back to your post, there is no difference between Melo and Dwightmare. What we wanted from Dwight was to be a role player. That did not fit Dwight's vision of himself. He was a fun guy in the locker room and gave it his all inconsistently. So the same way Dwight would sometimes shut off, Melo sometimes doesn't contest 3's or rotate to take a charge. The same way Dwight leaked it rather than addressing it directly. The same way Dwight was critical of the system that got the team to the WCF. The same way Harden played it down. The same way the GM, star player and coach knew what would be best for the team and prolonging Dwight's career and it has turned out exactly that way. If Melo wants to go somewhere and do exactly what he's BEEN doing for years - i.e. be a poor defender and a mediocre efficiency scorer - then he can go do that somewhere for the minimum and it's worth exactly the minimum. Like Dwight did, but Dwight was more productive when he decided he'd rather lose and play his game, and winners told him NO THANKS for his services. That's not a player fit for a team that wants to win. That is a statistically proven inefficient shot - proven over several teams, several coaches, several years, several NBA rule changes favoring jump shooters, etc. He wants to Stay Me7o he can Stay Me7o. That's where this thing is going. He chose his team, 2 elite PG's, elite offensive coach, a proven system, discussions beforehand, still given freedom to choose his shots, and he came in and just did the same thing. Same old Melo. And I'm not sure how long you've been a Rockets fan, but I can tell you as a long time Rockets fan, Harden does not like this kind of player. I'm sure of it. And agree or disagree, it's not good for the locker room to have that kind of guy around the MVP.
It is possible at all-star break if the record is 27-30. It needs 19-6 to make the playoffs and needs to rest Paul.
Should be noted that that is Denver's court, which means he traveled with team. Maybe the reason they told Melo to stay home, too???
No. Later tweet in this thread says bzdelik lives in Denver. That would've been telling if he didn't live there and traveled but melo didnt
As expected, Jeff Bzdelik got P-A-I-D. @Nook Fertitta was alarmed enough to personally recruit defensive guru Jeff Bzdelik, who retired just before training camp, to return, offering what sources say was a significant raise that pushed his salary to a range that ranks among the NBA's highest-paid assistant coaches.
Some of the newer players dont know how to switch or cannot switch properly. if you look closely you will see harden and paul get pissed about it several time sduring a game. ennis clark and melo were big culprits of this. likely they think switching everything is stupid so they tried a little bit convinced themselves it doesnt work and stopped doing it completely. same thing with threes. melo was already passing up three point shots.
