We entered last season with this super deep team but when we reached the WCF the reality was most of our bench couldn't stay on the court with GSW. Tucker is not just a good player, he's a definite plus against the Warriors and if you give up two quality 35+ min rotation guys up for one star, the assumption you'll be able to trade for/sign a guy who can fill those mins in the rotation is far from a given. We sign for Butler, there's a real chance we go into the WCF with an even thinner rotation.. And that's suicide.

this post got my hopes up! I'm starting to believe. that's pretty high level trade negotiations when it gets to the owner. that's basically both GMs agreeing in principal and sending to the owner for approval. realistically its also possible that taylor was "in touch" with more than one team. however, i'm sure he's not fielding all the phone calls for butler so its a good sign we're on to the next level. again its also possible we are the 3rd team and will just be receiving taj/ty from the wolves or johnson from the heat as @Codman had mentioned.
