i feel like the cp3 narrative is whatever it needs to be. talking just about cp3? he's a loser who never made it past the 2nd round and he can't be a great leader because all his teammates hate him because he yells and he needed to join a great team so he could finally win. talking about james harden? cp3 is an amazing leader and winner who is showing this loser james harden how to win because harden can't lead and we know cp3 must be a great leader because he yells. it's whatever you want it to be since there can be virtually no proof of it either way. or maybe it's this... harden was never going to be a "get on your ass" guy and maybe needed some of that from cp3 while still being the engine of the team. and maybe cp3 needed a chill guy who could also command respect from the team but not annoy the crap out of everyone. and maybe it worked perfectly for 65 wins and getting to game 7 against an "unbeatable" team.
I don't think Harden likes confrontation. He expects everyone to put it all out on the court and do the work off it. If you're expecting him to get nasty like Jordan, punching teammates or making Pippen cry for wimping out, Harden isn't your leader. Harden is still the general in the sense that the team goes where he goes.
In group projects (team sports) psychologist say there are two types of leaders that emerge from the rest of the group. No groups succeed without these two types of leaders. The task manager (CP3) and maintenance (Harden). CP3 is your task manager, he keeps big picture in mind, leads the charge and tells them how to achieve those task. Enter the maintenance leader. His job is to complete those task like Hardens scoring and demanding the attention of the defense to help free up others. Cp3 and Harden are the perfect pairing as far as group roles in the psychology world. As we’ve seen CP3 can only motivate and direct a team so far alone and Harden can only produce enough to carry a team so far. They have the perfect dynamic.
I don't know who the leader is. All I know is that we need luck for Chris not to have hamstring and knee problems throughout the year and playoffs this season. After all, he is making $19,230 an hour, 40 hours a week, 52 weeks a year, regardless of what he is doing. Meanwhile, minimum wage in Texas has been stuck at $7.25 an hour for 10 years now, and there are thousands of Houstonians busting their ass and barely getting by who can't afford to go to the games, or pay for cable or streaming services to watch them. I just have a hard time justifying his need for $160 million contract, and our team paying him that much, based on his injury history.
Lol Yao was never the leader of this team. Francis or Tmac was leading the team when Yao was around. I love Yao but he wasn't the same guy he was with the Chinese NT.
Y'all forget stuff so easily, he was showing a lot of leadership in the playoffs. A perfect example is when he got in Capela's face after he had that monster game. Harden isn't perfect, but he's getting better. To say he hasn't worked on being a leader isn't fair, he's changed immensely from the first year he came here.
here ya go,,, http://bbs.clutchfans.net/index.php...ng-for-rox-to-sign-melo.292311/#post-11873849 Lol at all the people b****in that all this is a slight on James Harden... cant compliment one guy without it becoming a slam on James... smh... rally the Harden white knights! lol
It’s ok for your MVP not to be a leader. Dramond Green is the leader of 2 MVP’s and I promise it’s ok bc they are winning.
Confused now. They have multiple leaders on that team. Dray is the emotional leader. Curry is the boss. KD leads by his superior game. Iggy leads the perimeter D. Klay is just cool and gets it going.
@Clutch made a good choice when he added @Will to the staff. @Will is fair and balanced and insightful. Wish he'd post more. Always a good read.
Thanks Sherlock ummm Mitch. He’s the president of the NBAPA so by definition he is the leader of all the NBA players. Why would it be surprising that he’s the leader of the team?!
