the comparison to Livingston is puzzling. Just bc theyre both taller than your prototypical "pgs" doesnt mean theyre comparable. MCW is nothing like shaun livington as far as the way they play the game. Livingston creates mismatchs bc he can post up smaller guards and shoot over them. solid finisher. GS can actually dump it to him. MCW doesn't create any kind of mismatch bc he cant shoot or have a back to basket game.

In that case, it’s a little easier to swallow, but I think most would have still preferred someone else. To me, the most egregious thing about this signing is his absolute inability to play off the ball and be effective. He can help if both Harden and Paul are off the court and he doesn’t shoot at all... I guess.

Aaron Jackson can at least shoot. I suppose his length is the upgrade?

I don’t think he’s our Livingston equivalent, I think he’s going to function like Iguodala. Albeit a poor poor man’s version.

Backup wing whose role is to dominate on defence, while playing next to cp3 and shooters as a secondary distributor.

I think he’ll be useful and a net positive this year.

I get that. Just not sure they couldn't hold leads, or MDA didn't ever trust them to play with more than 3:00 mins on the clock.

The times MCW will actually play will likely be situations where neither Harden/Paul are in the game, Paul is resting or hurt, etc. He won't get many minutes playing with either of those guys unless he's earned them.

Look, I'm not a fan of MCW as @The Cat can attest to lol. However, I'm not going to get worked up unless they think he's a regular rotation guy.

All you Ryno haters should rejoice. MCW is as anti-Ryno as you can get.

Would have literally rather preferred taking a flier on Isiah Thomas lol.

At least there's an off chance that he finds his groove again and adds another dynamic player off the bench.

The end of the bench ("fringe rotation players / non-rotation players) was a disaster. They didn't really have a 4th PG. Can MCW solve that? I don't know, but likely better at that facet than before.

And he was never as good defensively as MCW either. They are both fringe NBA players, but the Rockets found a way to use Green and get something more out of him, perhaps they can use MCW as a Shaun Livingston or Andre Roberson.

Welcome, MCW! Don't pay attention to the hate -- we are just a salty group after the playoffs this year.

If any coach can bring out the best in an athletic guard, I think you've found the right one in MDA. And you'll be able to learn from two of the best guards to ever play the game.

Wild speculation. Morey is playing chess when we are playing checkers. Kid can defend and Assist. My guess is he is thinking 1 in and 4 out works but we always assume the 1 in is a big.

If you put him out there with a shooting 5 the space still works.

Yeah, I don't know if it is a chicken or the egg scenario. I don't. But I'd rather build up the fringe-rotation and non-rotation a bit if we can because it will be a LONG season in a tough western conference.
