I'd say he is good trade fodder; Memphis? He and Gasol are tight. SAS? He and Gasol are tight. There are other fits and his Rox' value may be that of an (ahem) asset, perhaps in the disengaging of the disappointing RyNo-three-o Anderson?
@ch44 thanks for chiming in. It is going to be interesting to see the race for the Vet Minimum guys or guys willing to take less with the TaxPayer MLE with the Rockets, Warriors and Lakers. Rockets getting CP locked up early and then using him in recruiting right away is key. A Sergio Llull reference? Love it. I know people are sour over him. But look, the guy has been an MVP over in Europe. His entire game is based off of Pick and Roll. He has a 3pt shot. And he is fiery as hell. You would love his passion. Rockets DO have a need for a 4th PG. The team needs more ball handlers and attackers. As a bench rotation guy, Llull could make a difference. I follow Llull on twitter. He favorites a lot of Rockets stuff. He is watching.
@ch44 talked about moving Anderson for other bad salary. Ryan Anderson and re-arranging the deck chairs. Ryan Anderson for Serge Ibaka Ryan Anderson for Kent Bazemore. Ryan Anderson for Niko Vucevic & Terence Ross (or DJ Augustine) Ryan Anderson for Tyson Chander & Jared Dudley Ryan Anderson for Garrett Temple & Iman Shumpert Feel free to add your own...
Not saying they're necessarily worth it, in fact i don't like most of these i'm about to post but...just throwing it out there. Anderson & Nene for Marvin Williams & Cody Zeller. Anderson for Henson & Delly/Snell (i wouldn't do this personally) Anderson & Nene for Faried & Plumlee (i don't think this is worth it either) Anderson for Gallinari (not sure it's worth the risk since i think West would ask for some sweetener) Anderson for Harkless & Leonard Anderson for Burks, Sefolosha & Jerebko All things considered, my preference would be for either Bazemore or the Charlotte duo, even though Zeller salary goes one year beyond Ryan's contrat so, not sure...i'd say the best get here would be Bazemore especially if: - we can get him with some minor assets (2nd rounders and young players) - we will let Trevor go
I'd be ok with swapping bad contracts, but would prefer to have it be a one year deal than RA's two year deal.
Anderson for Bledsoe...(not a fan of Bledsoe) Anderson for Crabbe Anderson for Tyler Johnson Anderson for James Johnson (I think Johnson has the worse contract) Anderson for Evan Turner
Would he be worth that extra year of 27mm? Obviously I have 0 clue how much Morey likes Batum but I’m not sure he’s worth trading for an extra year of that much salary. Unless they throw in some sweetners.
Crabbe? Fournier (has an extra year) TJ Warren plus filler (terrible distance shooter but he's lethal from 10 ft in and on the boards)
I suppose it depends on what we think free agency will look like that year. Not gonna lie, I haven't watched Batum much since he left Portland, but from what I've heard he has declined rapidly. I have no idea why.
Yeah I didn’t either. Seems he was average offensively and defensively but b-ball ref had him shooting only 26.7% from corner 3. That’s pretty poor. Though obviously he’d have them served on a platter much more here than in Charlotte, so that # could go up.
I think Batum's extra year is a bit too much for a team that is going to be in the LT. It is one thing to re-arrange the deck chairs, another to tighten the options for flexibility.
I’m sorry unless picks and others sweeteners are involved, I literally don’t see why any team would want Anderson
