he told no lies...y’all need to be realistic about how that GS series went

our chance of beating them without a 3rd star will always be low

the realistic view is that rockets were right there to take the wcf. theres no reason to try to blow up this team as is and having no faith at all that they can beat gsw.

yeah, they were right there after miraculously winning game 4 and winning what was essentially a toss up game 5

this is what the Rockets overcame in order to win game 4 at Oracle

-down 12-0 to start the game
-getting outscored by 17 points in the 3rd
-being down 12 in the 4th

this is how miraculous our game 4 win was

Here are some facts about Warriors runs: The Warriors had outscored their opponent by more than 10 points in the third quarter 30 times this season, playoffs included. They had won all 30 games. Since their championship season in 2014-15, they’d outscored their opponent by at least 15 points in the third quarter 51 times. They had won all 51 games. And since that same season, they’d outscored opponents in a single quarter by 15 or more at home in 68 times. They had won all 68 games.

Without that miracle, we would’ve been down 3-1 even tho we had HCA and the series would’ve been all but over. Game 5 could’ve gone either way. Who’s to say the Rockets don’t win that type of game next year? Y’all are banking on miracles, toss up games, and a 34 yo CP3 being healthy after getting injured in 3 of his last 4 playoff runs. GS will try and get better and come up with better ways to combat our offensive and defensive schemes. Do I have no faith at all that we could beat them next year if we just bring back this same squad? No. Do I feel great about our chances? No.

I just never like his body language when things don't go his way and he's always a "tech" waiting to happen. Great talent but his temper has always gotten the better of him.

you do realize that the rockets only had one good shooting game that series where they actually made shots that they usually make. contrary to popular belief where experts thought rockets needed to play their best offensive game 4 times in order to beat the warriors. games 4 and 5 rockets won bc of defense in spite of their record breaking offense playing like ****. im not even gonna factor in the refs for arguments sake.. even though the bias for the warriors was real.

for what is essentially the first season together with cp3 and a lot of key rotation players.. 65 wins and a few breaks away from winning the championship is more than anyone could have asked for.
for some of you to already be so negative about the team is beyond me.. shaq and kobes first season together ended in embarrassment against the jazz.. lebrons first season with the heat was a disaster in the finals. and yet those teams came back stronger than the year before. y do u think this rockets team can't do the same? when this team has so much more fight in them? do u really think pj and cp3 will just lay over and give up saying its no use, like u guys are?

if the rockets didnt show that fight against the warriors then i'd feel the same as you.. but theres no reason to have such a defeatist attitude before the season even starts..
this isnt even about homerism at all. show some ****ing belief in your team after what was essentially one of the best seasons in team history in what was their first yr together.

I didn't see this coming. Pat yourself on the back, Mathloom, and then cry because you gave Oakland the idea. ;).

It's kind of funny how Clutchfans dismissed OP's idea of taking on Cousins, and then when he signed with Golden State, everybody freaked out like it's the end of the world. If you don't think Boogie is good enough for the Rockets, why do you think he makes a big difference for the Warriors?

On the rockets he has a featured role. on the warriors not so much. he becomes a role player with the lightest workload hes ever had in his career. hes put in a role, where they plug and play rookies to fill and also guys like mcghee, zaza. theres not a question of him not being able to fulfill that at the very least. he gets to coast through the entire year til the playoffs if he wants and get as healthy as possible which is probably expected. they can win without him. GS's ceiling was already much higher than the rest of the league, while teams were continuing to try and catch up. most teams couldnt even matchup with the team they had previously. adding him, GS can literally just sit back and relax

But, but, but, they say the Rockets were better than the Warriors... we were just screwed by the refs...
