B is gonna be worse than C because Paul is always injured and his body is breaking down. He had been carrying Lebronesque load his entire career but he isn't Lebron his body is more similar to Steve Nash and we all know what happened to him. The only way you want Cp3 is if Lebron is also here that the load wont be heavy. I dont care what kind of leadership Cp3 has he aint gonna.lead us on the bench.
OkayI just wanna say(as a person who followed the Suns during the Nash years), that Nash was very effective playing into his late thirties and was still an amazing point guard. He was 38 when he went to the Lakers, he had a freak accident with Lillard and never recovered. And that is when Paul's contract ends. Paul will age beautifully and besides if we havent won a championship by then its bleak for us anyways.
We do. In the 5 seasons from age 33 to 38, he missed an average of just 4 games per season while putting up 15.4 points and 10.8 assists on .506 / .433 / .918 shooting in 33 minutes per game.
Cp3 already missed more games than that this year at age 34 dude played injured this playoffs you realize that right?
Believe it or not, We have the upper hand here. Chris Paul's wife has been quoted as saying "if this man retires without winning a ring, He'll never be the same." Common sense needs to go into this. We give him the best chance of fulfilling his dream to win a ring. 4 yrs near max. Take the paycut to win the title. Everyone's doing it.
Why not just give him the max if he can bring Lebron into the picture? The Rockets are going to be WAY over the cap no matter what anyway. The owner can look at it as a chance to buy something that essentially can't be bought....multiple championships.
Because it isn't an easy sell paying Harden and Cp3 90+ million in a few yrs. I love Cp3 and think he brings a lot more to the table than just his game. It's all abt priorities and we know what LeBron and Cp3 will prioritize in a few weeks. Hopefully it's beating the GSW.
we arent trading to clear cap space. we are only trading to acquire a star in that trade. There is no cap space to clear. Ugh facepalm this board.
yes he can. people spouting nonsense. we are an over the cap team. we just have to match salary. order doesnt matter
That's absolutely an easy sell. You go up to the owner and say "Hey, would you like to win 3 or 4 consecutive NBA championships?". The answer will be "Yes" you then ask "Even if it would potentially cost you a couple hundred mil?". The answer would still be "Yes". When what you are selling is something that normally can't be bought, and you are trying to sell it to a multi-billionaire who would be interested in acquiring what usually can't be bought....money rarely will get in the way. He can spend the rest of his life stockpiling billions, but if he spends the money now, he'll always have at least a few NBA championships to show for it and he'll instantly make himself one of the most beloved team owners in the history of his home town. Les Alexander is STILL beloved in Houston for 2 championships won over 2 decades ago....how do you think they'd view a guy like Fertitta? There's things money simply can't buy....and right now the Rockets have the chance to buy some of them. When you get that opportunity, you jump at it.
