Just realistically can't expect anything from him. They'll have to get it done with their 6 1/2 guys. That said, I don't know if the NBA has an inactive/active list before the game like the NFL but if so, I hope they keep him active. [Break glass in case of emergency later in the game?] Although I guess if he's ruled out from the start, that probably won't matter.
I would be shocked if CP3 doesn’t play. Chances to make the NBA finals don’t come along every season, especially for an older player like himself that has never made it that far.
Chances for a superMax contract don't come very often either and this will be his last chance at one. Serious structural damage and it's as good as gone. You don't gamble with $200+ million. There is life and then there is basketball.
Funny how the yahoo sports article I just read spent 90% of its word count or more on the impact of Iguodala's absence and only mentioned in passing CP3's injury. Maybe because one is definite, one is supposedly up in the air; but the national media really truly knows which side of the bread is buttered.
This is the Rocket's and Chris Paul's "Knicks/Willis Reed" moment. Don't announce that he's playing, but then let him trot out of the locker room for a HUGE boost to the crowd right before tip-off. Even if he just plays for like 5 minutes......just enough to give everyone inspiration for this game. We need to pull out all the stops for this game. Game 7. Put all the cards on the table.
There's no real chance for permanent damage with this. I suppose you could argue "what if the Rockets lowered their offer", but Chris already gambled on the Rockets once by opting in in the first place. That was a much riskier bet. I highly doubt he'd make that gamble but not this one, literally 48 minutes from his first NBA Finals (and likely the title).
Just like they talked about Iggy not playing having such a negative effect on the Dubs' defense but never mentioned that Luc, one of OUR two key defensive guys, was also sitting out.
Exactly. The risk is that he could tear that hammy. Then if we win, he could miss the entire finals. Wouldn't cripple him for life, though. He could still chase his kids around and sit by the pool with Oscar from State Farm.
If CP3 can give us 10-15 minutes of 60/70% then take it. Even if it’s just to give James a breather. I want this win so bad. Sick of hearing media and Warrior fans talk about Igoudala. No mention of fact we’ve been without our Igoudala for practically all of playoffs. If we had a healthy Luc then we might already closed these primadonnas out. Also, Harden needs to use his midrange stepback to suck Green up and open lob and layups.
