Can you show me your rationale on their "cruising"? No subjectivity. Numbers would be better. Things like, Warrior played well in both our wins, hitting 47%+ from the field and three point range. Each win had all of their starters playing. Their losing streaks didn't really become worrisome until after our last matchup, which they lost. Their average score per game didn't begin to really decline until after that game as well. We also hit around our season average for two and three pt attempts across all three games. So even if your "cruise" and "something to prove" arguments hold, the numbers didn't reflect it until after we locked up the season series. I never said sweep, btw.
Players have off nights. Durant, Curry also have poor shooting nights that result in a loss. Houston will still win this series- just makes next one against the Warriors seem more in their favor
I gave them a 25% before "home court advantage", 35% with it. Got to be realistic at the end of the day.
If they don't flip a switch and return to the level they were on about a month or so ago, not even close. It appears that even getting out of this series is going to be a struggle. I just hope the Rockets don't turn out to be the Western Raptors; a regular season wonder and a playoff bust.
if we played like any of the 7 playoff games, nope. need paul to do better than 6apg, eg and ryan need to step up, luc and pj need to help ariza with defense, capela needs to stay out of foul trouble against them, and if eg cant stnap out of it then mda has to get past his stubborn rotations and use green instead, maybe even jj. rockets havent looked like the playoff team i was expecting. far from over and the jazz are led by a rookie so i mnot worried, just annoyed.
Virtually the only advantage we have over the Warriors is our bench. So far, that has disappeared in the playoffs save one quarter. There is no denying that the Warriors top level talent blows ours and any team in the history of the NBA out of the water. It's guys like Gordon, Anderson, Tucker, Luc and Ariza that would tip the scales IMO
It took a crazy shooting night and fast start for The Jazz to beat the Rockets When the Rockets win today they will be in the exact boat at the Warriors again... up 2-1
Nice to see Gordon looking to get to the basket first. Hopefully it'll build his confidence and he'll start feeling it from distance. [edit] Thought I was in the GameThread.
Bad news @Air Langhi we're 48 minutes away from being chanceless. Maybe they should just lose the next 3.
Would not be surprised to see GSW beat us in 5 and would not be surprised to see us win in 6 or 7. I think anything can happen. GS isn't as deep as they have been the past few years, we are deeper and defend better than anyone they'll see in the playoffs. People say they have flipped the switch but they don't look like the dominant team that they have in the past few years. Yes, they look very good, but not unbeatable like we've become used to seeing. Hopefully with out poor shooting nights we've been uncharacteristically having, we'll be due 3 or 4 games where we hit 20 3s. The law of averages has to work out right?
can't have those turnovers. Also can't have boneheaded plays like jacking up stupid 3 after 3 and passing up wide open layups for bad shots. Guess we'll see.
