Looked like he did a better job of that last night, let it fly in the fact of decent coverage - even got blocked on one attempt. He always strokes it in Minny, let road Randerson thrive
PJ Tucker needs to come out of the starting lineup. This is not the best series for him to start since Taj Gibson isn't a threat on offense. Tucker sabotaged the offense early in Game 3 because he missed all his open shots. I would revert to starting Ryan Anderson over Tucker. If you want to know why, look at how the team did when he played vs Minny in the regular season: http://www.espn.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=400975411 http://www.espn.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=400975595 http://www.espn.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=400975623 http://www.espn.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=400975794 He was a +/- monster because his floor spacing ability is a bad matchup vs Gibson.
I feel like we’ve been so focused on defense the past month that we haven’t seen the full teeth of our offense in some time. This is a team that was tailor-made to slash the Minny defense to pieces, and we did so four times in the regular season. I’m talking 130 point barrage. Unleash the dogs (now that Kraken is out of the NBA).
1) Attack the damn basket. Especially when Towns is out of the game. Sure, take the open 3 if it's there, but this is not a good defensive team we're playing against. 2) Push the pace. The Rockets did that after the first quarter in Game 2 and blew the T'Wolves out of the building. Again, not a good defensive team. 3) Make your open shots. I know that sound simplistic, but for God's sake, Ariza is getting wide open looks in the corner. Stop doing that stupid pump fake and dribble to the left move. Just let it fly. Tucker needs to make his uncontested corner 3's as well. The T'Wolves are giving him the damn shot, so make at least 40% of them so they can't double off of you the entire series. We also need regular season EG back. Where's the guy who would slash to the hoop and get layups or free throws? Where did his jumper go? 4) Bring the defensive intensity the entire 48 minutes. The reason they won a close Game 1 and destroyed the T'Wolves in Game 2(after the first quarter anyway) is because of their defense. I get that they miss Luc, but they didn't need him to shut down Minnesota's offense in the first two games, so they've shown they can beat this team without him.
that's real observation here, defensively Teague is the biggest problem, Capela is defending Towns well, Tucker and Ariza are doing well on Butler and Wiggins, only CP is having a hard time guarding Teague Offensively we have not play a A game yet, all 3 games, we are struggling as a whole, we don't need an A game to beat the Twolves, but if we don't wake up soon, we are gonna be going fishing, not beating GS in the conference finals like this, even without Curry.....
Ding, Ding, Ding remmeber when Ariza was injured and Luc was starting for him.. our defense was damn near elite and offense in first quarters was best in the league. Luc is more versatile than trevor on offense and a MUCH better defender
Like it or not, as a team, we are volume shooters. As such, if a player has an open shot, take it, no matter the previous misses. There is no room for hesitant shooters in this team.
Start Ryan Anderson, Joe Johnson as stretch Forward for a couple minutes, just to stretch their defense. P.J Tucker and Joe playing for a short time. Tariq Black I think his energy and Leaping for Rebounds, Lateral quickness on defense would be better than Nene, Nene is getting beat off the dribble too much, Ariza also the last game especially, need Luc back quickly.
I would like to see us pass the ball earlier on in the shot clock. We need to get them chasing the ball...not sitting around waiting to play last-second iso defense.
This. We played too slow on the court. Dribbling 20s and then bricking is unacceptable. We need to quickly pass the ball.
I like KAT but he was being a D-Bag in game 3 with his screaming and yelling at Capella and Gordon when he blocked or dunked and the looking for airball, etc...I hope Capella dominates him tonight and Harden drops 50 on these dudes. The key is Ego, Green and Ariza need to make 35+% of their threes tonight and stop penetration. D-Rose and Teague look like hall of famers with the way they've been able to get to the hoop.
no more adjustments needed after 2 games they needed a wake up call and a miraculous game 3 loss is just what the doctor ordered
Make your shots. Guys are getting wide open looks and just clanking them. They're pros they should be able to do this.
Need to deny the ball to KAT in the post with PJ fronting. PJ needs to play the 5 and get Green and Gordon in with the other starters more.
Harden needs to finish at the rim at the efficiency and proficiency he's done the entire season.....his entire time with the Rockets really. Rocket needs to keep shooting 3s and increase the variance......hopefully Ariza and Gordon can finally start knocking down some 3s with some consistency (especially Gordon). On the Defensive end, Rockets can not allow Teague and Rose to drive at will. keep them out of the paint and live with whatever 3s Wolves take as a result of clogging the lane.
just curious, do you have an idea how efficient harden was driving to the paint the whole season compared to how "inefficient" he was last game
