I personally would melt it all and turn it into a giant bouncy ball. You'll be the coolest kid on your street with one of those.
Y'all folks complaining about the charity aspect are crazy. He's giving a portion to charity, that's good. Who gives a **** what percentage it is? Probably more than you donated to Katrina. If I was running the charity I'd be thankful for anything, I'd even support the endeavor.
Would it be better to buy 100 of these bracelets 8 years after the fact and have $10 go to the Red Cross and $90 or so go to profits for the sellers or would it be better to simply give $100 to the Red Cross?
This Why would we buy a product no one wants and only some proceeds go to charity? We could spend less money on a donation and it would still be more than the %10 he would give.
I wonder if Felixthecat made the list? http://www.cnn.com/2013/06/13/us/worst-charities/index.html?hpt=hp_inthenews Above the law: America's worst charities
You're referencing the business model, something I didn't even comment on. That's a whole other story. But ethically, there is nothing wrong with the approach.
he's not giving anything to charity. he is only projecting proceeds from one thing to go towards another. no person in their right mind sees the value or even goodwill in helping someone make a quick buck in the name of charity.
Bump. What a fascinating thread. I just read the entirety and it is quite the study in human nature. P.S. post #137 is one of the greatest posts in internet history. Congrats @TexasFight P.P.S. any updates @Felixthecat ?
I don't ever think I'll love making money as much as Felix. I understand the hustle but I like sleeping at night knowing I'm not sleazy.
Wow, blast from the past. I got my ass handed to me in this post. I deserved it. Funny thing is I haven't been on CF in a while and log on to see this post. Good times lol.
I can't believe you would just not wear them. A lifetime supply of accessories is worth a lot in my opinion.
