I know you. You're like this BBS's first annoying Spurs fan to start threads. Right? Yeah, pretty obvious what I was referring to.
If the playoffs started today, it looks like Spurs sitting at 10th place right now would miss the playoffs. Good. Let them rot in mediocrity for the next 20 years.
I said it in the GARM game thread. The Spurs really could miss the playoffs this season if they don't turn things around quickly. Their schedule the rest of this month is brutal. Even with all the home games coming up and Kawhi returning as soon as Thursday, the only easy win is tonight vs Orlando.
They've had a loosing record for a total of 47 days combined over the past 20yrs, cry me a river-walk...
I would say that the SAS are on the ropes after back-to-back losses in LA. The odds are heavily stacked that they will ease into the playoffs, but if the worst happens, Spurs fans will look back on the 4th quarter against the Clippers (and giving up 41 points) and see that this game may have cost them their season. They also let the Lakers shoot 57 percent in the the 4th quarter. Very un-Spurlike. Again, they still control much of their fate, and if the Spurs work hard and get a win over Portland, things are less complicated. But Denver can pressure them if they can beat Minnesota twice. Again, the Spurs likely make it, but they are in full decline. I'd like them to stay out of the 8 seed. At this point, it looks like 5 or 6. Personally, I'd rather the Rockets play anyone else except the Spurs in the first round. They are probably the one team (and the one coach) who sense that they have the personnel to put a game plan together on D to contain the Rockets. Who would have seen this coming when this thread was started?
