Craig, If you do read this forum, ignore all these jabronis. More wrestling references man. They’re lolz. The only criticism I have of Ackerman at times is I don’t like fact presentation as if it is a long winded monologue. To clarify: if you’re giving a statistic and you’ve been talking for a while and the other announcer has been dead silent for like 20+ seconds, it doesn’t sound good. Instead, mention part of the statistic, cleverly include the other commentator by asking a question or something, and then finish your thoughts. Other than that he’s awesome. I’m certain an entire generation will look up to him as we did to Bill Worrell.
Pretty sure he was making a joke a Tommy Heinsohn's (Celtics announcer) expense. Having league pass outside of the US I listen to every announcer team multiple times over the season, and Heinsohn is the most obnoxious homer bar none. A bit of homerism is fine sometimes (Bullard is definitely guilty of this sometimes, although been much less partisan this season) but Heinsohn just sucks.
I personally look forward to hearing him, especially because it’s a road game and the fans need an extra boost on the road games...majority of you guys love to complain
i don't have any problem with ackerman, he calls the game well and does it with enthusiasm. and bullard's in a much more professional mode when paired with him, too. i'd put this tandem in the top 5 or 6 of broadcast teams leaguewide. SAS, OKC, BOS being amongst the absolute worst of course
I agree. Bullard seems much more serious and insightful with Ackerman. They do well as a duo. I hope when Bill retires they dump Clyde and just have Ackerman and Bullard man the announce team.
I'm gonna have to 2nd this. Nothing good has ever been "squeezed off". Didn't he used to do the RGV games? if so, he's gotten better as an announcer. It's almost like our 2nd round announcer draft pick is starting to pan out.
My favorite was Heinsohn saying that a couple of guys from Boston need to take Ron Artest into an alley and "take care of him."- no kidding, he actually said that after Ron Artest fouled Paul Pierce hard.
Big timer that's why I stop listening. I would rather wait until I am home. Haha CA is very passionate about his job.
I thought the "someone call someone!" line was pretty hilarious. CA has grown on me. I didn't like him that much at first. I think he has really improved. I like it when he whispers "splash" after EG hits a 3.
Here's B. It was a call referring to a Kobe and Dwight Howard Lakers team. Of course, @Clutch was wise enough to capture and post the call for posterity
I am a big fan of craig. His passion is awesome! I love it when Craig starts his radio broadcast with the " Your team, my team, America's team... The Houston Rockets". Does anyone have a link with this saying by chance?
