I got lambasted on this forum for posting “Rockets Exposed” immediately prior to us losing six of our last eight games. My whole point was that other than toothpick Capela, we have zero rebounders on the team. Other than part time old man Nene, we have zero big men. All six losses have had a similar theme.....rebounds galore and pure uncontested layup drills. Having to score 120+ points a game won’t breed long term success.
wait until we get back to full strength. We are missing Luc, but the defence against the Magic was good and the defence today was against the other best offensive team in the league. Paul isn't even back to full strength yet. The only defensive part we have to clean up is the points in the paint. We have the third best defensive rebounding team in the NBA
It’s truly comical how one bad signing can handicap the entire team, and they have to play him or else his stock drops. Is 80mil enough to invest in making changes in the arena to make it more comfortable for his depth of field or whatever?
So, you posted that our defense would be worse after our best defender was injured? Holy ****, you’re a genius. This board would truly suffer without your brilliant analysis of basketball. Will you also bless my first born child so he can do stuff good like you?
Dont even matter, with a 20mil/year hole on this team we're going nowhere. This Warriors team is like the Jordan Bulls except they don't revolve around one guy, they have multiple guys who will destroy you and they also have the deepest bench in the league filled with ring-chasing vets. We would have decent depth if we didn't have so many injuries but to beat this Warriors team we need every advantage we can get, including home court which is pretty much a dream now unless the Warriors have season ending injuries happen to at least 2 of their Stars. Their 4th best player is Klay Thompson and they still have a finals MVP coming off their bench.
He does have a point. We have great wing defenders but our paint defense is basically Capela. That's fine if you have one big down in the paint or an average post player. But if a team has multiple bigs inside the key, we're screwed. Golden State made an effort to get more bigs after their first championship. Now they have Looney, West, McGee, Pachulia, and in some way Green. This will give us headache defensively in the playoffs.
I am amazed at how much our defense has fallen apart without Luc.... which is concerning because we are failing not to lack of talent but due to mental errors and lack of defensive communication.
Luc will help, but he mostly will help provide better perimeter defense. We need a big in the middle to help with defensive rebounding and stop the layup drills. We are 30th out of 32 teams in defense the last 10 games. We survive when Capela is on the court, but the layup drills begin once he leaves as we have no adaquate defensive backups at the center position.
we can't do much atm, will have to wait for Luc and maybe Green improves after a bit more practice with the team....
The lay up drills isn't going to be stopped by having another big man. It will only be stopped by stopping the other teams ball movement. When teams move the ball around, they shift the defence and end up moving the defensive players enough to open up a gap under the basket to score
What’s Roy Hibbert up to these days? Remember him? He was a top rim protector not too long ago, and he just disappeared.
the best comment you will see about our defence.... The Rockets ranked sixth defensively through Dec. 13, when Mbah a Moute injured his shoulder in a game against Charlotte. Since then, they've ranked 25th defensively, having allowed more than 110 points per 100 possessions in 10 games without him.
Rhyno is a huge liability. I love the guy. I love that his heart is in the right place, but he is REALLY f**king up our chances at contending. It's really sad man, dude seems like a really good guy.
OP, If you only had a meme of Channel 2's (or CNN's) "BREAKING NEWS" logo over your post. You know; something that is not actually news at all.
