@tinman Would you erase those 2 championships if you could transport Hakeem to todays soft NBA?

Hakeem would have been more popular if he didn’t have such a strong accent. That’s a fact.

The real MVP was Kevin Durant's mom back then.

Busy raising a coward 7 year old kid.

Why not both, BTS make good music. :)
Never understood why some people automatically talk down new artists instead of appreciating good acts in all eras.

Except for the Yachti, Uzi, Future etc crap, that genre is sh**.

I still have NBA Live 96 or 97, Rockets were beasting in that game (plus had the awesome blue stripes dildo jersey). The gameplay was turrible though, feel like you could dunk from the 3pt line.

The way I remembered it was that Olajuwon was angry that he received the award during their series. It wasn't so much that Robinson didn't mention his name or won the award in the first place but rather having to see it before Game 1 of their series. That was supposed to be the fuel for what was probably the greatest domination of one star player against another in a 7 game series.

Olajuwon was not correct, you don't have to win games to win MVP apparently.

I don’t think dream was on a revenge task or he was pissed about mvp voting. David R was legit regular season mvp and spur was great team that year
I don’t think Hakeem was 100% sure Rockets can win that series before first game, since rockets did lose to spur badly during regular season.
i belive dream just want to come out and give opponet his hardest hit, and give rockets a better chance. accidently it is proved he is such a superior center than david r . the dream doesn't play mind game. he just happend to be the best in real game!

I think Hakeem saw that trophy and was fine with it until Kenny Smith started pumping him up about it. As soon as he stepped on the court, he turned back into Akeem for 48 minutes. Then when the game was over and David was thoroughly humiliated, he turned back into humble and hungry Hakeem.

Also, don't discount the fact that David was on the original 92 Dream Team and Hakeem wasn't. Of course, it was because he wasn't a citizen yet...but Hakeem could have used that as motivation as well (although I'm sure he would never admit it).

Did Dream become an official US citizen after 92?

I couldn't find the video. But was it his MVP year or Finals MVP where he brought out all the players on the team to accept the award. That's class act. Truly one special man.
