Why would division/conference rivals like OKC or New Orleans deal us Paul George or Cousins? My wish is more likely. Lol
I never said anything about either of those events happening, though if one of those players insisted on only coming to the Rockets and stuck to their guns, that would be a different story. Either way, there is absolutely no reason Nets would agree to that. It's a terrible trade for them.
Can we make a pact as Clutchfans to never mention DeMarcus Cousins and Rockets in the same sentence ever again?
by the way, for the record, I like Clint a lot and hope he's a rocket for his whole career. I still think that he can play the 4, can play well alongside another 5 and we can use more depth at either the 4 or 5. Really, I think the rockets probably want to aim to add a top-30 player at the 3, 4, or 5 positions
I agree. I couldn't think of any sf's or pf's in the league that might be on the move though. That's why I said Kenneth faried, who might be available, played really well with harden on team USA, and is a pretty good player.
Not sure we'd want Brook Lopez or Jahlil Okafor. Seems we prefer a rim-running center (Capela) over talented post-scorers like those two. I could see Faried being effective on this team. He's buried on the Nugget's roster, weird considering how he was viewed just a few years ago and that he's still relatively young (only 27).
Not a big move, but I would like us to scoop up all the high percentage utility 3-point shooters in the league like Kyle Korver and Marco Belinelli. They are just sitting there in Cleveland and Atlanta, not doing much because either their team is no good or doesn't know how to use them. With the Rockets, they would have a utility role in the lineup to make open threes and let it rain when they catch a hot hand. Sure, they are defensive liabilities but that's why you plug them in the 2nd unit or in short spurts with the starters when they're on a hot streak.
Alright....so.... A center that can't play defense is useless, his offensive impact has to basically be Shaq for him to be a great get for your team. This is why Lopez and Okafor have such a low value around the league despite their offense, their defense is pretty terrible. Cousins, his game doesn't need to change, his attitude though is a question. Faried is a JAG, just a bench dude, he's not moving any needles here.
I never said components of the trade. You just assumed straight up Ryan Anderson for Booker/Carroll What if Zhou Qi, Troy Williams & picks were mentioned? Or facsimile there of? If it leads to the lineup I mentioned for next year......I would do something like that. The Nets have done some worse deals Edited: just for the record the Nets obtained DeMarre Carroll from Toronto this past offseason in exchange for Justin Hamilton and a TPE. Let’s not act like it’s KD or Paul Millsap. Nets helped us unload KJ McDaniels btw. Crabbe for Portland
