If we're going to replace Anderson in the starting lineup we should replace him with Gordon. You keep all the spacing plus you get a better defensive matchup for Harden (sf), an upgrade defensively at the 2, and Ariza can hold his own against most opposing 4's defensively.

After all, if healthy, Paul, Harden, Gordon, and Ariza are most likely our closers at 1-4 with the 5th guy to be determined. And before you say no, we need Gordon off the bench.....minutes are minutes. It's really a matter of minutes distribution. Gordon off the bench isn't nearly as important this year because of the addition of Paul and the luxury of having at least one of Harden/Paul on the floor for the entire 48. Not to mention Bobby Brown will be just fine off the bench shooting threes.

Let's start Ryno Anderson in away games and PB&J Tucker in home games.

PJ Tucker is Chuck Hayes at SF, with a decent corner three pointer.

Basically, I love the guy like a Son. I'm about to adopt Moute the African Prince as well. He can join the Nene big dong club...

not sure why you quoted me then went on a completely different tangent. i like ryan, but is it crazy that he might be even BETTER for our team off the bench?

I was thinking the same.... I know people are going to say it's too much money coming off the bench but that shouldn't matter TBH.
CP, Harden, Ariza, Tucker, and Capela play outstanding D and having Anderson, Gordon, Nene, and Luc off the bench would be sick AF.

Lol if "minutes are minutes" then you could make the same argument for Anderson

I am fine with this except for Bobby Brown in the "off the bench EG role."

pretty much. bc the things ryno does best needs to be maximized by your best players he supports. if were talking about winning as a team. he isn't the energy guy tucker is. hes not going to provide a scoring punch off the bench on his own. hes the knock down shooter who keeps the ball moving that harden and cp3 need next to them that makes the defense pay trying to cheat especially at the 4 position

Anderson will essentially play the role that Lou Williams played for us but Anderson/Ego will have much more chemistry than Ego/Lou will did. Anderson/ego will be deadly coming off the bench because they've played with each other for years while it was clear last year Lou/Gordon didn't know how to play together

The obvious way that Ryno helps our defense is by drawing his 4 defender outside by being a threat to make 3's.
The thing that most don't take into account is just HOW FAR out he can hit those shots.
This draws his man even further out from the arc giving guards much more of an opening to drive.
That long range threat is a valuable weapon

Nearly every NBA big man is a bad matchup for Anderson. He can’t guard a chair.

Anderson needs to be the starter during the season so that his trade value increases. If he is a starter on a 55+ win team, but plays the same minutes as he otherwise would off the bench, he will have a more positive air to him.

As long as Tucker or Mbah a Moute play the end of the 4th, we're in good shape.

really? How about we just consider the title contenders for a second
    • GSW: Good thing Draymond Green isn't one of them. A stretch 4 is exactly what you want against Green.
    • SAS: Ryno also got the better of LaMarcus Aldridge in 4 of the first 5 games in the SAS series
    • MIN: Minnesota is not a bad matchup for Anderson, either
    • CLE: and lulz at CLE scraping their offense to go low post to Kevin Love vs Ryno. And you can always switch Ryno to Tristan and put Capela on Love
    • BOS: Celtics = Marcus Morris ... ohh, so scared
    • OKC = Melo or Patterson ... this is our worst and, really, only bad matchup
Playing a pure stretch 4 in today's NBA against today's contenders is something Morey and MDA have taken into consideration, especially against GSW. The lack of defense isn't as horrifying as you make it out to be....especially against Green.
