This is definately dark side. "If people can't agree then they should be made to agree." Darth Vader.
OK, now I'm worried. I've been watching Rocket games since the year the Summit opened, but I have no idea how the salary cap works, what the hell the luxury tax is, what MLE means, or any of that other crap. It's a mental block, I think. I just like the games.
How about "Moderator for a day" Clutch could select certain posters to serve as admins for 24 hours...hmmm...maybe not.
i'm not so fond of that idea. i think it will devide the members even more then t does already, and who decides who can or can't post there?
Registered Members: 15,080 Total Threads: 67,307 | Total Posts: 1,119,003 I have no idea how many of the 15,080 members we have actively post. But for any moderator to attempt to decide which of thousands of members get to be on a veterans board would be a full-time job. It would be simple to say take everyone that has been on since 2000 or with 3000 posts. The object is to bring more informed opinions to the forum. I don't think I'm smarter because of longevity or more informed. Using # of posts would encourage newbies to post useless statements to jack their status. The best way to judge someone's status as a vet would be to look at the last 100 or so postings and see what they said. Of course this would take forever with 15,080 members. I would prefer to stay with what we have. If a rookie says something completely stupid the vets have a tendency to make a logical reply and bring them back.
I never post anyway so being able to read this new forum without posting priviledges is ok by me. Lurking has lost much of its luster.
I like the idea of the veteran forum, as long as I could see the posts. I don't like it being completely closed off. I've also stopped posting in the Rockets forum because I don't like to wade through all the stuff. Of course, Clutch probably sees that as a good thing.
So does one HAVE to offer quality posts in the GARM? I've been here forever, but I rarely post in that forum for a variety of reasons. Would someone like me (a veteran who has never been banned, attends bbs events, contributes to the Hangout, etc) have access to this forum? Just wondering.
Friggin' no edit....[/grumbling] I agree with the others who say this would be too divisive. The GARM would go completely into the crapper if this were to happen.
If I had any say in the decision, you would be in like Flint.. but , hell, Im not even sure I would be allowed in...
