Where do you go for your smoothies? Smoothie King? Jamba Juice? Or where? (would be a third option, but can't think of any other place at the moment... ) Also, does anyone have any good smoothie recipes I can make at home with my new blender?
Smoothies? Too much coffee or spicy food gives me the smoothies, but I’m thinkin’ that’s not what you’re talking about.
I go to my own blender. The commercial ones are waaaay expensive. (Like you could get one in this town anyway.) Don't drink too many of them, though; just don't get around too it. Usually I just throw some orange juice, a banana, and various frozen fruit in there, in proportions that look good. Bananas never keep long enough for me to get around to making a smoothie, though, so I decided to quit wasting $$ on bananas. Therefore, I couldn't make one now without going to the store. Smoothies are OK, but I never understood the big deal about them...
anyway, since isabel is giving recipes, i use frozen blueberries and frozen strawberries, after defrosting them in the microwave, i throw in a banana, some milk and a few spoons of sugar. my other one is milk, crushed ice, hershey syrup, mocha frapp mix. if i had whipped cream it would be a starbucks mocha frapp but not costing 5 bucks. i throw in some kaluha or baileys on the weekends. my third is salsa, dead fish, squirrel, urine, mustard and mayonnaise, but i only serve that to the guests when they get really drunk.
speaking of...i actually drank my own urine once because i thought it would get me more intoxicated...that was a night i will never forget. ok....time to go to bed
There's a place in my town that makes smoothies caled Tropical Smoothie and despite the name they have plenty of non-tropical flavors. Yum!
Usually I go to the Smoothie King on campus here at UH. However, the only smoothie there worth a damn is Angel Food.
Smoothie King or i make my own. My Kitchen-Aid blender kicks butt for making smoothies and margaritas!
I remember when I was living at Jester at UT, they had a smoothie shop down stairs, man it was WAY too convinient. I remember going through my 2 semester mean plan in one semester. Needless to say my parents were very un happy with that.
